It's sad because this man narrated my college years. He made such legendary songs and albums and he's going out sad but he's been like this for a long time. Charlemagne said on the breakfast club he thinks Kanye is jealous of Kendrick getting the attention right now and I agree. He's trying to stomp on Kendrick's moment. He's a narcissist and whenever he doesn't get the attention he thinks he deserves he throws temper tantrums and says nonsensical, offensive things on twitter.

Hi Rob. 7:45 You state that Mr W claims to be autistic. As one myself, I believe he is. It doesn’t excuse his behaviour, but it’s conservative to use the condition as a scapegoat. For example, Elon Musk uses the Nazi signal, and it’s because part of being autistic is to code switch. He wouldn’t have used that signal if he didn’t keep that kind of company around him. Furthermore the diagnosis for black autistic men is terrible in even the most developed countries. I would estimate that the majority of black males (especially from areas of poverty) are undiagnosed in the United States. I think when he lost Donda, he lost an essential type of connection that was real, and replaced it with things that can’t compare. Takes a big toll on autistic people who have been moulded by the parents. Kanye is not bi polar. I think he has a personality disorder. A Darth Vader psychology that wasn’t there before attention became his stimulant. Hope this perspective helps you to reconcile as it has for me.

Personally, false prophets highlights my biggest issue with Cole. Being praised to high heaven for saying basic common sense in a basic way.
@marcomarin11963 сағат бұрын
This is my biggest problem with haters, why would you have an issue with an artist based on the praise their fans give them? Also you're pretty much implying other artists are not capable of saying basic common sense in a basic way like he does. Being accessible is a skill and he deserves praise for it.

Rob, always love your coverage. False prophets is a classic and I love your idea. I got a real question. Tell me if this is too far. Honestly as a media and community, like you said negative coverage won’t solve the problem. We really need to actually blacklist him. Like just don’t report on him at all. Starve him of the actual coverage and attention he wants. Like collectively, all major black hip hop outlets, starting March 1st, won’t report anything about him, short of his demise (grim as that sounds), for a full year. No album info or drops, no rants, no clothing line, no light at all. It would starve him of all he wants: attention. I believe that’s the real solution. What you think?

I don’t think there’s a mental illness present at this point. Kanye knows exactly what he’s doing. He’s just a bad person with no consideration for others. He’s slowly tarnishing his legacy and separating the art from the artist is getting real hard right now🤦🏾♂️

I can sense the underlying intentions of trying to prove a point to fight for the freedom of speech and going against political correctness after he felt blackballed but using rage baiting tactics, trigger words and red pill incel right wing talking points is not the way to go about it. I’ll still listen to the music because he still has one of the best discographies of all time but I’ll use more discernment when it comes to his rants/speeches. I’m not even sure if it’s mental health or milk ultra at this point.

Kanye's mother would be appalled by his behaviour, but we have to understand this is not Kanye. His mental health is not there. He is schizophrenic and has MPD. He has been spiralling for years, even when he dropped Donda he was unbearable to be around. All the stories of him abusing musicians, producers, not paying them either, etc.

It’s the circle that refuses to talk to the individuals who have become God in their mind that we need to focus on. From Nicki to Drake to Wayne to Kanye. Its so obvious to me that one rapper is so self centered and selfish that all this crashing out is due to not being to handle that someone else is having a moment and getting all the spotlight on him. He knew that Grammys was buzzing over KL and he pulled that “art” that everyone just ignored, then proceeded to act like a child throwing tantrums in twitter trenches. I am a fan but this is gross and I am not even talking on hate he is inciting on people. It is funny you mentioned False Prophets because its been on my rotation lately again out of nowhere as well.

Its weird to me is that i grew ip with Kanye music and I NEVER felt like Ye was that big. He always felt goofy to me and not in a genuine funny way. When N****s in Paris dropped and No church in the Wild dropped those were at the top of my playlists for 2 years and i still never felt Ye or Jay were better than Wayne or Cole or Kendrick or DMX or any rapper i was listening to at the time. Then the antics started and he became completely irrelevant to me.

I used to think of Ye as the greatest example for Death of the Author (where you take in the art without viewing their views). Generally someone's views find their way into art, but Ye was so... inconsistent? Contrarian? that there really never is a political consistency in his music. But nah, its too far gone. The guy is too unabashed about his hatred that even if it doesn't show up in the old music, its still too obvious. So once again we're back to 0 artists who aren't just... 100s of years dead that fit the Death of the Author idea. Even when you manage to remove art from the politics, apparently you can just be so obnoxiously bad politically to pollute your art.
