I can still remember the moment that I stumbled upon J. Cole. It was 4/20/2018 the release of K.O.D. I was just chillin in my room and saw in spotify that J. Cole released a new album, and I listened to it. After like an hour, I was shocked cause it opened my eyes on how big people's problems are. As a 17 year old kid back in 2018, I was just living every single day in my comfort zone. But when I heard the song Brackets, it gave me this opportunity to like look at other people as human without judgement. Craved for more lessons and I started streaming J. Cole's songs. Stumbled upon Apparently, Change, False Prophets, etc. these helped me to grow internally as a young man. I just wish that someday I could like tell Cole how his music constantly reminds how amazing life is despite its difficulty. I'm now 20 years old and I still apply the discipline and lessons that I got from Cole's music.

Love without attachment is the way to peace. #BeFree 😃 #ChristLike

Hummer Simpson When we lose everything, we’re totally left alone with ourselves and that’s a true enlightenment if you allow that journey to manifest & unfold naturally it’s an awakening. It’s very painful but if you go through it, are open to the lessons and listen to everything not just words but all that surrounds you, examine your entire being you will receive the greatest spiritual awakening and reward. Love is from within yourself - the SELF, God gives us signs we need to open our eyes. Respect & blessings to you, glad to connect with a good spirit keep up your positive mentality 👌🏽👍🏽😊

Cole... you’ve really done it this time. I always take something from your interviews, but this one hit me so hard. Ever since I watched this interview a few hours ago I’ve been reflecting a lot on my childhood & realizing that a lot of my anxieties stem from my upbringing. My parents had me at 15 & I won’t even begin to get into their demons. But long story short it’s generational curses. They were how they were because of their childhoods & upbringings. And their childhoods & upbringings were how they were because of their parents childhoods & upbringings... so on & so forth. Hurt people, hurt people. I’ve been sitting in my car for the past couple hours just crying & writing, realizing so much. I feel like a weight is lifted. Not to say I have it all figured out, but I feel a sense of freedom. I have so much compassion for my parents & even for myself now that I’ve realized all that I’ve realized. From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU! I feel like this is the start of my healing. ❤️🙏🏽 sidenote: this is my 3rd time in these comments 😂😂😂 I’ll probably keep coming back to this video for a while.

What he said about social media is exactly how I feel & how he spoke about changing bad habits, it’s very hard. Edit: J Cole, I hope you see this. Your song Killer & Premeditated murder were the reasons I went to law school. I am currently integrating into higher education and public policy to create policies predominantly for minority/low income people of color. Your mixtapes got me through college & heartbreaks. Your stories help me center the millions of thoughts in my head. Specifically, your song “problems” got me through summer 16, after I graduated college, I was in a crazy space. Thank you. You’re a gem and the greatest story teller of all time. I love you and thank you for doing these interviews. Your voice matters and it is healing so many.

He's dead right about ego. I feel like I became a real man when I let ego go. Not completely, but choosing to have an ego about true things. Not money, celebrity, or to be better than the next man. But ego about being a good person, husband, father, friend. Nothing superficial can shake me because ego doesn't control me. The ego will have you chasing things that don't really exist but give you a false hope. Once you connect to your inner self and let it go your only moved by real things and a new improved, realistic person emerges.

It depends, he's talking about creating a outside observer in your own mind, catching your behaviour and actions is difficult but after many years I was able to do it but that outside observer doesn't have all the power, don't get obsessed with catching yourself doing things. You need a balance, humans are good at finding patterns but what about the patterns in between

I really Can't explain my love and thankfulness for this man and what he is doing. It's staggering how real he is and how pure his intentions are. A true legend way ahead of his time. I know he says we shouldn't put people on pedastols above us and that we're all equal regardless of idoltry, but what he is saying and how he expresses himself through his art and just as a human being is insanely impactful. He really is a blessing to this generation and i really do hope we'll reach the point in society where we can all realize it and fully give him the appreciation he DESERVES. This man is a GOAT, ain't no discussion. Thank you Jermaine

Was this really a well constructed interview? Seemed like Angie Martinez just aggreed to everything J. Cole was saying though. She didn't challenege anything he said. She could have really got so much more if she didn't play the "Yes man" role. Charlamagne Tha God wasn't afraid to test Kanye in his interview. To be honest this interview disappointed me..
