The beat that demanded me to find out who Dilla was!!!! Summer of 00', Music Choice, this beat woke me up out of my sleep. I mean, I thought it was Erick Sermon at first, and no offense to the Green Eyed Bandit, but this was just a little more different than what you hear around that time because everybody was trying to sound like timbaland, but this had a WAY different feel for that very time in life. After that, I remember picking up Common's Like Water for Chocolate and the Brodie was all over that C.D. as far as production, and he has a sick ass flow (Thelomious Super Microphonist). From this moment onto his unfortunate death in 06' any and everything that Dilla on it, that I knew of, it was in my possession. I literally wanted to meet bro, even when I found out about him being sick. I didn't think nothing of his illness being too serious because of how fast he would recover from being down from it, inplus I know people that survived with Lupus for decades before it becoming a serious situation, but his was a bit more serious than most. I just wanna say that I live with this dude in my heart(PAUSE). When people say that Dilla changed their lives, I can't disagree with that statement because the shit happened to me. Before him it was out of Pete Rock and D.J. Quik, but after him, no one else has took that number one producer spot.
