It's amazing the people you never hear about that so many people know. I absolutely love hip hop and just stumbled up on J Dilla and this dude was way ahead of his time. And from what I've read he's no longer here in the flesh, but he definitely lives on. This cat was really doin it!!!!!!. And his beats are simplistic and complex at the same time. Dayum!!!!

I'm so happy to read the comments in this thread. Every time I introduce Dilla to new ppl I always get a great feeling looking at their faces as they hear the stories and then follow that up with the music. I am so glad this man's legacy is still being carried forward into the future. The man is eternal.

This beat makes me happy and sad all at once. It just makes you think while you driving, studying, at the crib alone. Masterpiece.

A quick free, a blitzkrieg of history, the mystery of hip-hop flip-flops infinity, like the serpent, how will it be interpreted, epiphany, do you hear the symphony, the chants of tenth degree mind power shared, perpendicular to the square, compare me to Rick Flair, Rick rude, Ricky steamboat, Rick Stiener, you hear that tick? I am the timer
