Always a good idea to bridge the contactor in the evap on these J&E Hall units as they can burn out after a few years. Great vid as always HD 👍

Thats a good idea, Its funny I looked at the contactor and thought it was a waste not to use all three contacts but didn't actually do anything about it!

Nice job. That line set has quite the turns in it, looks good. I have bought those rubber mounts to run line set on a roof they aren’t cheap.

Yeah the rubber mounts are really expensive for something thats made of recycled tyres!

Those walls are completly rotted out due to moisture ingress, this is crazy. Nice job tho👍

Its very damp as its below ground level, plus there is no floor drain.

Looks good! Vac pump sounds a little unhappy! Do you weigh in the coils and copper from the scrapped units?
@heavydiesel2 жыл бұрын
Yeah thats Daves 'Dosivac' vac pump, must be getting on for 18 years old and still working! I usually take the coils away, some times I weigh them it but more often give them to passing scrap collectors as not really work the hassle unless you've got a lot of them.

J and E Hall. Best change the dixel controller now or you’ll be changing it in a few months

Just installed the smaller model, what controller would you recommend?
@Cosmo95_2 жыл бұрын
@@robertscott7102 Dixel controllers aren’t that bad, but can fail sometimes, most I see last for years. If you really wanted to upgrade it, it would be best to keep the digital display and fit a mechanical thermostat like a ‘ranco’ for the control circuit. A common fault you might see with the J&E Hall systems is the contactor in the indoor unit that can burn out, this can be solved by bridging the contactor over it’s 3 channels, as from factory they run it just through just one channel. Also it can be good idea to add PTFE tape to the alan key ports / schrader core threads on the outdoor unit to prevent any refrigerant leaks in the future. Main thing is to keep the outdoor unit condenser coils clean and it will look after itself.

@@Cosmo95_ Thanks, that's really good to know especially about the contactor fix
