He's misunderstanding her. He thinks she is accusing him of prying or having a hidden agenda. She's actually just being super real. I think she's identified him as a mega nerd and is trying to be kind. They're just so different.

Awkward or the most awkward interview ever? I thought this was all pretty cute; and normal. We liked Richard Kingsmill since 1988 - because he was bookish/intellectual - but I think him with his style … with his 25 well prepared questions … does not jive with a true artist - one who is pretty articulate, vulnerable and open. Have some fun Richard.

He should have asked her more profound questions. Not the same superficial crap. I would have asked her if she finds inspiration from her own birth chart.

My God. I had to grab a drink halfway through this one. LOL! I'm a crazy Tori fan forever and ever, and I will tie myself in all kinds of knots if it means giving her the benefit of the doubt, but I'm gonna say it. She is not playing fair in this interview. I remember reading in her book that 1998 was the year of the great war with her and Atlantic, and that frustration comes out in the last minutes here, so maybe she was feeling sour all around, and rightly so. But whatever she was going through, I think she took it out on this guy more than he really deserved. Still love her, tho.

On second listen, Tori's statement, "That wasn't my intention," really stands out to me. You can hear the apology in her voice. She was clearly going through some shit during this time.

I would have done the same thing as Tori...Kingsmill sounds like a vinegary old maths teacher in this interview. 😊
