In Joseph Azizes recently published biography of Bennett, he points out that this final chapter was deleted from the second edition of Witness, and there was a significant revaluation and downgrading of the significance of Subud, and his own experiences of it

You're right. He left Subud for a longtime after being opened. But that was a more personal thing he had to deal with. Not really Subud in particular. However, after many years being away he had came back not too long before his passing. He was a brilliant man.

As a subud member I just wanted to say it's not a religion or teaching. It's a simple spiritual exercise (latihan kejiwaan). It's open to all religions and doesn't change any beliefs. It's simply an exercise

Thank you for sharing this. I recently got Bennett’s book on Subud, and my very well look into being ‘opened’ and initiated into the Latihan in the new year.. if you have any info on how to do this in the UK I would be happy to know that. 😊🙏❤️

My advice would be to connect with a subud group in your city if there are any and they will explain and sort out the necessary steps u should take in order to get opened. i wish u all of the best. its truly a wonderful experience as u are soon to find out im sure 🙏🙏
