Late to the party here...but I don't think that Nurse Ratchet and staff are slowing down/speeding up the clock, pumping fog into the ward, etc. Remember that Chief Bromden is an unreliable narrator. He has some stereotypical schizophrenic delusions/hallucinations (machines in the walls), and we're learning about the setting through his perceptions. While not literally true, they capture the feelings of living in the place, like time dragging.

There is only One "Pearl"... What IS "The Pearl"? Well then, we must look at the Eastern Symbology of the so-called "Dragon Pearl" (Which IS the so-called "BINDU/Moon-chakra/center", That (Pearl) "The Bindu" (is "The Dragon's Pearl") Which is also The so-called OBSERVER (or, what-is called "The Zero-point-Field") This "Pearl" (The Bindu/Zeropoint), is very well known, in Eastern Esoteric teachings, but it's pretty "Un-known" or "Non-existent" (within "Western Esoteric teachings") which is very strange and very absurd, but its "Very Obvious" (to Anyone) who has experienced/sensed (The Reality) of "The Bindu/Zeropoint" (located at the back/above the head)... What we must (also) understand, and be *Very Clear* (about) is the Statement (made by Gurdjieff) within "The Third Series" (That is) the *Exact* (statement) as related to the so called "Third World" (and this statement) should, in my humble opinion *NEVER* ("Be forgotten") because the Statement made by Gurdjieff Himself (as related to the "Third World") is so Profound, and also (very clear, and very direct) That is to say? it *Cannot* "be misunderstood" or "misinterpeted" (if you are not "willfully ignorant") that is to say... G.I . Gurdjieff *Final statement* At the End of "The Third Series" (related to "WHAT IS" the so called "Third World", and (exactly "where" does "it" exist?): Remember this statement (*Always* and *Everywhere*): “The “I” in a real man represent the results of contemplation, or simply in the contact *BETWEEN* (the factors) of his inner world and of his outer world.” *The third world is his own world, depending *NEITHER* upon his “outer world” *NOR* upon his “inner world”: that is to say, it is *INDEPENDENT* of the caprices of the processes that flow *IN HIM* as well as of the imperfections in these processes that bring them about.* (From "The Third Series") ('LIFE IS REAL ONLY THEN, WHEN 'I AM') by G.I. Gurdjieff “If I Am Not Related To Something Higher I Am Nothing.” -Jeanne De Salzmann (The Reality of Being)

J.G. Bennett in "Making a New World" has presented a clear, powerful call to fully awaken and consciously stand and deliver for planet Earth and all her life expressing here in infinite variety. We truly are all related on this transformational journey. You have done great work in bringing Gurdjieff to us all in such a relatable, understandable way. Thank you, Lewis.❤

FOR THOSE WHO ARE INTERESTED: Book Studio who published this collection of Transcripts of Gurdjieff's Wartime Meetings 1941-1946 has just this last month --- November --- published a Third Edition which more than doubles the actual content of the First and Second Editions. Using the same cover as is shown here, this new hardback volume clocks in at a much expanded 408 pages checked against much more complete French transcriptions than the Solito Solano variants used in the previous two editions. It is here in this volume that Gurdjieff Beginning the 1944 Meetings, says to "The Prosecuter" (his name for the attendant transcrber) to take down the material with great accuracy and care as it will contain the substance to be included in his Third Series LIFE IS REAL THEN WHEN I AM. That material never made it into the book's final posthumous publication but it seems (most enticingly) to be here. This Third Edition being the most comprehensive of all avaiable --- including the strangely sanitized and occasionally truncated Dolmen Meadows volume of the 1943 Meetings --- is the only volume to own at this point. Make sure when ordering it is the Book Studio 3rd Edition published in November 2024 as the cover is the same.

Very grateful for this series, I wish to catch the next beginning of a gurdjieff related series LIVE. Have you ever read boyhood with gurdjieff ( my journey with a mystic ) By fritz peters ? it is an extraordinary account of a young boy, at the age of 13, who was sent to Gurdjieffs Institute for the harmonious development of man, epic and humorous Alice and wonderland type stories of his time there with the master. I believe you would love it, from my understanding of your general vibe and attitude. I would be eternally ecstatic if you were to read this on your channel. Happy work, and reading Best

The man’s voice is perfect. Doesn’t need to lower it in the slightest. Soothing and compelling all at the same time! Quantum of Solace is Ian Flemming’s first Bond short story EVER. Written as a sort of story-article for the May 1959 issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine. Magazines have always had a certain agenda. So I’m sure it went with the theme of the magazine and the issue at the time. I don’t know if it was his first fictional story ever, but the man had time to develop Bond and his writing style from that time forward. His first official Bond novel didn’t debut until 1953 with Casino Royale. Fleming has written a total of 14 full 007 novels on top of the approximately eight short Bond stories between 1959 to 1964. I’ve read five so far, counting this one, and it’s been said that Moonraker was much better as a book and why wasn’t the movie more like the novel? And it remains my favorite so far. Also, his second short Bond story following Quantum the same year, From A View to Kill, is really good. I’m not a Fleming simp, it’s just that to go on and on about how bad one story is when there are so many more just seems so daft to me. Oh. And Fleming died in 1964, so he only got to see the first two film adaptions of the Bond franchise. Bond and his adventures are largely based on Fleming’s own experiences in special intelligence during WWII, which I was surprised to find out about. Made me respect the series a bit more. Again, I’m not simping for Fleming - although I know way more about him and Bond than I ever thought I did. I’ve definitely accidentally become a fan - but let’s not be too harsh or dramatic about the first introduction to Bond in a small section of a magazine from quite terribly long ago. By itself, it’s an interesting story even though it’s not what we expect from a Bond story. It reminds me in some form of a Hitchcock Presents episode…without the murder, I suppose.

I listened to this reading and found it so important. Thanks for the effort of reading it out. I've heard other so called followers of the Gurdjieff work on KZbin dis Bennet as someone who misled people and never really understood the Fourth Way. This is B.S. Bennet's Transformation of Man serise of books, produced while he ran his courses at Sherborne House, are well worth looking at.

Have you read his Autobiography Witness? It’s a wonderful insight into his life and journey. I am a big fan of Bennett and he has shed much light on Gurdjieffs ideas and character 😊🙏
@guyloughman9621
@guyloughman9621 6 күн бұрын
@bookclub5291 Yes, I've read Witness. It does give great insight into his life. And he is open and honest about it. I believe he first met Mr Gurdjieff in Constatinopol (Istanbul), and he could also speak Turkish and Arabic. I feel Bennet's experience and knowledge is perhaps sometimes overlooked and underestimated as important, available Fourth Way material. Although, understandably, some of his books are hard to get.
