Welcome to the wonderful world of the J. Geils (pronounced "Guile -s" or "Guy-les" if you prefer) band. As a longtime Boston resident, I can attest that these guys were the ultimate Boston party band. J. Geils was the lead guitarist (he sadly passed away a few years ago) and Peter Wolf was the lead vocalist. So many great songs. They had a string of hits from the early 1970s through the early 1980s. Nice song for today for all those not having the kind of day you would hope to have. J Geils is awesome and were big in the 70s and 80s, they had a string of hard hitting albums that featured rock, blues, R & B and some soul at times with a true Boston sound and attitude. They were very energetic and brought down the house live, I was lucky to see them several times, they were the real deal and you would love to hear more. Try Give It to Me, Serve You Right to Suffer and Looking For a Love. Thanks for taking a chance on this powerhouse from back in the day. Enjoy! You look great, my dear, happy evening to you. 🎸

Great band! Cue up "Loveitus" from the "Hotline" LP. The original house party band, J Guy-ells is how it's pronounced. If you like hard drivin' party band music, definitely give a listen to the "Full House" LP, all of it. Happy Valentine's day beautiful.

You must have read my mind! I remember this song was a jingle for Swiffer or some such product in the early 2010's I believe! The mop was heartbroken in the advertisement! It was quite hilarious! Unfortunately Love Stinks sometimes! They also sing the song Centerfold among other tunes! I'm forgetting Freeze Frame by them! I think you'll dig it!

"Come Back" is a great song from the same album as this song. "Give it to Me" is funky and from the 70's. "Must've got Lost" and Centerfold are also great songs. "Angel in Blue" for a ballad.

I've seen the J Geils Band live 5 or 6 times in the early 70s, mostly in the Boston area clubs like Paul's Mall and the Performance Center. They are a great club band. They "TEAR IT UP"!!! Best album by far is a live album, "FULL HOUSE". Hard Drivin Man, First I Look at the Purse, Lookin' for Love are all hot. Wammer Jammer is one of the great harmonica songs. Peter Wolf the lead singer gave personality to the J.Geils Band. They were never the same after he left. So enjoy his contributions in such songs as, GIVE IT TO ME, ANGEL IN BLUE, & the absolutely scalding ferocity of FLAMETHROWER. Nothing better !!

It's like you're playing all the hits of my teenage years! Awesome...I've enjoyed this week from you. I have a couple suggestions: Supertramp "Goodbye Stranger", "Take The Long Way Home". If you like them I will suggest some others. Check out some Pink Floyd....Their usual go to is from "The Wall" which was brilliant but I kinda like some of their other stuff off the beaten path just as much if not more. "Coming Back To Life" is so beautiful I could cry.

Pronounced the Jay GUY-ells Band. There big hit was Centerfold, followed by Freeze Frame. My own favorite J. Geils songs are Angel in Blue and Piss on the Wall. They are NOT a one hit wonder, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them, eventually, make the Rock HOF. Agree that the biggest FU to love song would be Harry Nilsson's You're Breaking My Heart, but, it is guaranteed to be de-monetized.

Don't know if "FU Love" is still going on, but if it is, I recommend Bob Dylan, "Idiot Wind." Never was a more venomous breakup song ever written. I know his voice isn't for everyone, but seriously....check out the studio version of this if you can find it. The ultimate breakup song.
