The hand blown glass pens would pair beautifully with these especially the gold ribbon swirl hand blown dip pens ( choose your fave color of ribbon lined with go,d)

I got a sample of this, but haven't tried it yet. I have a western fine pen that did clog with Emerald of Chivor. I always gently shake a bottle of ink before filling. You should agitate your pen a little, to move the gold particles around, before writing. Gravity will put those particles down to the feed. The longer your pen is pointed down in a writing position, the more glittery product will group up, and potentially clog your feed. So after writing a little, I pull the pen in an upwards position, nib up. Sometimes I turn the pen some on the side too. When I am finished writing, I close the cap, and tap it all the way around, to try to get any particles in the feed, to go back down into the converter. You could store the pen nib up, but since I've followed these steps, I haven't had to do that. I will not use this type of ink in a fine pen anymore though. Medium on up is perfectly fine for me, and I have no more problems.

Would be a cool ink for doing cards, invitations, or just artwork. Thanks for the review!

I would love to see a J Herbin with silver sparkle!

Maybe the next one will have them? I don't know for sure, but I'd bet we'll heard of the next 1670 ink in the next couple of weeks.

Actually, I guess that just happened: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWeTZH9olMh-bbc

Was this more similar to emerald of chivor in terms of flow, or closer to the sludge that is rouge hematite?
@colinmartin97977 жыл бұрын
Mike Matteson rouge hematite has a lot more sparkle in it, you can see when you set the bottle next to another it has four or five times the glitter of chivor. chivor never clogs pens and works well in flex nibs, but hematite is sludgey and stop prone (it also has a secondary sparkle effect that is not in the glitter, the red itself sparkles, which likely doesnt help the flow) i love hematite but i only use it for a day or two before cleaning the pen. chivor can be run multiple fills through a pen for weeks without cleaning!

Thank you, Mike. I could see using this with a dip pen but nothing else. It's too Jazz-Handy.
@AnzanHoshinRoshi8 жыл бұрын
Right. I wouldn't have the patience to clean up after a Jazz-Handy ink in a real pen, though. I'd only use it for a few flourishes, not a real ink for writing. With a dip pen I'd only need to dip a few times, swish in water, wipe the nib.

I'm so confused I watched the pen habit's review of this ink and he said there's barely any glitter and here it's just in your face glitterlicious.

I would just use a glass dip pen with this type of ink

I actually don't love glass pens for shimmer. They can feel really rough on the extra smooth glass nib. Metal dip nibs are better, in my experience. I use shimmers in fountain pens all the time, though.

Mine is a rusty medium orange. Not very saturated….hardly any shimmer. Must have got a dud bottle.

Whoa. That’s really strange.

This ink will ruin good pens. Not fo everyone. lovely interesting colours but not for every fountain pens. This is like Indian inks good for dip pens.
