This is a lyrical masterpiece 👌 The song talks abt the different emotions that come with separation. Namjoon talks about sadness, thus 'tear' as in crying. Then Yoongi talks about anger or being torn apart so he uses the other meaning of 'tear'. Then J hope talks about fear, how he fears to have relationships in the future only to be separated again.

We knew recently what the meaning of Outro :Tear is, Yoongi said that he wrote this song for the members when they were thinking about disbanding, this was after their first win in 2017 billboard awards, they became more famous, more successful, we can't imagine how the pressure was on them, and now thinking about these lyrics, the full performance, J-hope's verse at the end how he almost cried, 2018 MAMA speech, it's really sad, hopefully they are happier now, these 7 boys deserves all the love and happiness

Rachel, I’m so glad you’re appreciating J-Hope more. He’s a great vocalist, a great rapper and we all know he’s a great dancer. People who have seen them in concert say that regardless of who their bias is, it was impossible to take their eyes off of J-Hope because he has such a great stage presence. He wrote a song for his mother called Mama and performed it in Seoul when she was in the audience. He cried while he was singing it and during a break in the song (just before he cried) the ENTIRE Olympic stadium full of ARMYs started chanting “Jung Hoseok! Jung Hoseok!” It’s VERY powerful, touching, moving, entertaining, etc. And while you’re watching it, imagine his mother (and sister) being in the audience listening to him sing a song dedicated to her and her hearing it AND hearing 60,000 people screaming his name while she watched. She really sacrificed a lot for him to pursue his dreams. Also, I think J-Hope and Suga are the most the most philanthropic; constantly donating to causes they believe in, usually under the name “ARMY”. I really hope you’ll look into J-Hope’s live performance of Mama in Seoul. It gets you right in the feels, yet it’s an upbeat song and the choreography is, of course, OUTSTANDING! I've listened to this song before but listening to this now and especially after knowing what it's about and to see their passion in the performance made me LOVE IT! Like all three of the rappers have a different sound and tone but still they're all so passionate and powerful! I love the way Suga pronounces, 'you're my tear' with the A more than the R. I love RM's aggressive voice and J-Hope's raspy voice along with Suga's smooth and cool tone like YES. But we all have to agree on one thing, J-Hope's last verse SHOOK us all. Especially the heavy breathing at the end like he was angry and sad that it almost sounded like he would cry omg :(((
