Thanks for sharing this. Its certainly astonishing how already successful the books were, even before the movies came out. Always nice to see vintage footage like this before the movies came out :)

I think I must have been the only kid in 1999 whose parents bought them the audiobook version along with the hardbacks because I've always known how to pronounce Hermione's name. I was shocked to hear people butcher her name as I got older. Even more so when I learned people actually approached JK Rowling saying the name wrong.

In general, I hate when people treat children the way the hosts treated these kids. Overall, JK Rowling answered their questions very straightforward and addressed them with respect. But the other hosts belittled them so much and it was just annoying.

I remember in 2002, i was 10yrs old, telling my friend if he wanted to watch the movie with me and he said no because his very religious parents didn't allow him to. He eventually came out as gay (nothing wrong with that ofcourse). After that at the age of 10 I started thinking that maybe religion was the one poisoning the minds of children. I still did my catholic sacraments and will have my kids donthat as well but with caution. I will make sure religion does not poison their minds.

@IdoNomb17 күн бұрын
She was starting to be known. You look at it as her being the super star she is now. In 1999 she was starting to boom. The attitude and questions went along according to the time and fame level. And JK set the mood herself from the beginning. Learn how to read the audience and time.
