What i take away from these interviews, Is that Joans life had a major impact on her writing, i read all 7 harry potter books and i felt a sense of adventure, Like i was not in this world anymore, which inspired me to begin working on my book, i want that same impact on my readers, like the main characters adventure takes people into his world and keeps them there till they put the book down. She is very inspiring.

I remember watching the first Harry Potter movie with my dad years ago. It's hard to make him laugh, but he found the film highly amusing and chuckled often. Now that I've lost him, I find a strange comfort in the world of Harry Potter.

JK Rowling is a clear inspiration. She's proof that if you don't give up, keep trying, and persevere on your ambition/idea/s you CAN become successful. Not just her, but Stephen King, JRR Tolkien, and CS Lewis. Also, Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. True innovators and pioneers of the twentieth century. Never give up on your dreams. Even if, you are depressed and are at rock bottom. Like Ms. Rowling herself has said, "Rock bottom wasn't fun. I'm not romanticizing it. But it was liberating.". In essence, she was saying to not let any thoughts/inhibitions stand in your way. :). I love the Harry Potter series.

Jk Rowling is extraordinary. Shes a genius, to create the world of Harry Potter in her head, its just baffling. And to think shes richer than the Queen because she imagined a world of characters and events in her head makes me respect her more.
@Fromthemiddletothegriddle6 жыл бұрын
riazomonero Don't believe the rumour that she's richer than the Queen. No one comes close to her vast wealth empire.

I'll never forget the feeling i get whenever i read or watch Harry Potter and i'll never stop wishing that one day i'll get that letter from Hogwarts and live this fascinating life. Im proud to say that i've stuck by Harry Potter from the very start and will always stick by it. I could never thank J.K Rowling so much for creating this world which has been my childhood.

@MissChips33 Actually her mother died before the first book was published, but she was clinically depressed when she wrote the first book, and she did base the dementors on depression, especially the part about how you feel like you'll never be happy again.

J. K. Rowling is one of the best writers. I never thought that a book written for children can so fascinate adults. The fate of Harry I know by heart and still happy to be back to this reading. I recommend books by JK Rowling as a way for miles to spend some time for both children and older generation.

IKR =) For me, the moment of inspiration first struck when I read the sentence, "He had hands the size of dustbin lids" about Hagrid in the first book. I knew I was onto a winner and that I wanted to write like her.

i doubt you'll be that disappointed, they actually did a fairly good job transfering the books into movies. The books are extremely detailed and answers alot of questions you may not have picked up in the films. I just recently started reading the first book and find it hard to put down...so go for it :)

@heroofzelda36013 жыл бұрын
Wow I just have to say J.K. Rowling you are the best. I mean I try really hard when i write my stories and when I get my own ideas but none of them can compair with the amazing world that you have created. You make me try harder at my stories because I want to be a great author like you. And for the people that are saying she stole your idea get a life. And it doesn't take 17 years to write a book! I mean sure it takes A LOT to come up with a magical world like she did but still come on.

Does anyone know if she's still married, and how many kids she's got? I love her!
@catgirl77656 ай бұрын
And here is another fact: J.K Rowling was greatly inspired by the T.V series Bewitched. Bewitched helped her create the magical world of Harry Potter and many elements in the Harry Potter series originated in Bewitched: Witch and wizard to mortal(Muggle) marriage-and a witch who does not tell her mortal husband that she is a witch until after they are married Traveling magically by fireplace Traveling by magically disappearing from one location and re-appearing at another Half-bloods Wizard chess Moving photos A magical wizarding world hidden from mortals and with secret entrances Schools of witchcraft All these elements were originally in Bewitched and JK Rowling needs to admit to where the ideas came from!

Jo did when she was depressed, I did, too, when I had borderline. So go and get some help, you and everyone else will feel better afterwards.

The Harry Potter series are some of the better books written EVER. It's one of the best told stories EVER. It's just incredible. Timeless. Children for generations will be falling in love with Harry Potter over and over. The Twilight books are a whole different story. They are NOT timeless. They're half-way decent. Not wonderful, but decent. (I've read them. I wouldn't talk if I hadn't read them.) They are EXTREMELY corny. I mean, they made me laugh a lot more than anything else.

There are many Christians today that have never read a page from the Bible in their entire life! If you hear her talk, she knows much more about the occult terms and practices than she knows about the Bible. She said she does not believe in magic...but, she writes with passion about it. It's like Martha Steward would say: read my baking books, even bake some of the cookies, but don't eat them. How many can do that? You can't put Christians and witchcraft in the same space,and have light.
