Same here. If it had been a random guy on the internet whose style and opinions I didn't know, I would probably find it problematic or offensive. According to them this whole thing started cause "trans people were upset that they did not have period and thus were prompting women to not talk about their periods" or something like that and Rowling was defending that women should be able to have their own spaces. I know that is not what happened, I looked into that, saw nothing about that. From what I understand, the issue was that JK Rowling did not like the inclusive language "people who menstruate" being included in a medical news thing about COVID because she doesn't like that not only women menstruate (Like trans men). So I need a straight story that is like "This is how JK Rowling is transphobic". For the holocaust denial I showed my mom the tweet and she was like "Where is the full conversation", which there wasn't; just a screenshot Rowling took with Rowling claiming that the burning of the books from the institute of sexology was 'a fever dream the poster made up'. I have been trying to prove it to them but its an uphill battle.

As for supporting the Communist Party, there's a problem in the UK at the moment if you want to vote for a gender critical candidate or party. Greens, Scot Nats and Plaid Cymru all have very draconian pro-trans policies and are taking punitive measures against gender critical members, and Labour are almost as bad; witness the persecution of Rosie Duffield. Tories are coming round to a sounder, more realistic position now, but the huge explosion of the trans industry happened under their watch, so they have to be a bit suspect. I voted Labour myself, but not with any great enthusiasm.

Just a reminder to those who weren't around or forgot Vaush's JKR controversy arc, the reason he was ACTUALLY getting criticism is because he tweeted "All JK Rowling had to do was shut the f*** up and she could have been almost uncritically beloved for like a century", with a follow up tweet saying "Women be quieter and start apologizing challenge". JKR screenshot and replied to mainly the second part in a snarky way, and that got it to blow up and gain a lot of attention. The part that most everyone had an issue with (including myself) was the second tweet, because it's just straight up misogyny. He also followed up by doubling and tripling down on this tweet, complaining as he does here that people should've been on his side and bandied together to oppose JKR. In a follow up video "THE MORAL NECESSITY OF BEING SEXIST TO JK ROWLING (And Why I’d Do It Again)", he justifies his misogyny by saying that she's a billionaire so it's ok, and bragging about he actually could've been way more misogynistic if he wanted to. It was generally a bad time all around, and he's no more justified in his misogyny now than he was back then.
