Anything J touches turns to gold, unfortunately for most, smashes the original. Cue shitty comments...

what did they do to this song?! wagon????!!!!
@groovy44515 жыл бұрын
Ralbert123 J changed it after he got in a car crash.

I'm not necessarily opposed to people changing song lyrics for a live cover, even at a tribute concert-- music is a fluid, evolving thing and so on-- but the new lyrics these two stuck on the song really just didn't even make sense IMHO. "I can't believe the wagon's gone, it's history?" This sounds more like a bad parody than a cover.

+Rebecca B The story before the song sort of explains it. He was driving a station wagon and that is what he crashed on the way to sign the record deal. This version was actually recorded and released on a Dinosaur Jr ep.

+FreakSceneNet Whether based on a true story or not, it's embarrassingly bad what he does here. Just play the song. It's Bowies day. No one fucking cares about your dumb little anecdote. This guy sucks at stuff like this. Plus he's autistic and sounds like the kid from Family Guy.

BS. The song still captures the point. I learned about Bowie's version of the song through Dinosaur Jr. and I like both versions for different reasons.

Though the so-called 'tribute' to David Bowie at Carnegie Hall was UNSPEAKABLY AWFUL, it did serve as an opportunity to showcase individuals, like Sean Lennon, who suffer from a total LACK of DISCERNIBLE TALENT.

+Dia Bolique I´m afraid that is very true Not one single artist performed anything near the level one would expect

+filmelitt ... As regards my comments above, first, I do not take any pleasure at all in observing the obvious fact that, though he is the son of a creative genius (who, amongst other things, was possessed of an extraordinarily unique musical talent), Sean Lennon has neither inherited his father's creative genes, nor developed any particular talent that is uniquely his own. Second, my comments were not meant as an exclusive criticism of Sean (who, I assume, is a worthwhile person, despite his lack of talent). Rather, my comments are meant as a broad observation on the extremely low artistic standards that were on display at the recent tribute to David Bowie. For the.fact is that, whereas Bowie was known as much for being an innovator as for the very high artistic standards that he imposed upon himself throughout his career, the so-called artist who gathered to pay tribute to him (both at Carnegie Hall, and Radio City), demonstrated that, in addition to lacking IMAGINATION, they are also woefully lacking in any NOTABLE TALENT.

+Scott Wilmore ... "AND Sean says the nicest things about you"? Hmmm.... Are you attempting much too hard to amuse yourself? Or do you merely wish to demonstrate your propensity to write DOPEY comments?

fuck yourself. This is one of my favorite Dinosaur Jr. songs. This is not Bowie, this is J. Bowie would have loved this, for he had humor, charisma, and love for art. seriously, fuck yourself
