I don't think anyone appreciates the pain Eren goes through. He was eaten alive by a Titan and survived. He was devoured by Titans who tore him apart, piece by piece. He was beat to a pulp by Levi, the strongest human in the program. He bites through his hand all the time in battle, ripping it apart if he can't transform. He was impaled by some wood and rubble then ripped himself off it. Yes, he is a bit of an inconvenience, getting kidnapped and breaking down at the worst possible moments but the agony that this man has endured is outstanding.

I honestly think she didn't know. She seems like she's waiting, but when she turns to Eren, you can see her expression drastically change. She's surprised, off guard, and astonished/shocked by what she sees. I think Annie was waiting for Reiner and Bertholt here, believing Eren is dead after what he had suffered and before that being incapable of shifting. She isn't concerned when the lightning strikes, she isn't concerned when the foot steps are coming, she doesn't even look in the direction of both those things either. Why not turn to face the direction where the lightning was at, which is also the same direction the foot steps are coming from, if she's expecting an enemy? No she thought Reiner shifted into the Armored Titan and was coming to join her, she was awaiting back up. The moment Eren roars, she finally turns to face that direction, her face going from confident and determined, to absolute shock and fear, as Erens fist makes contact with her face. No she had no idea that Eren was coming with a smack down on her ass that would be a world of hurt.

I didn't really take much interest in this anime until my boyfriend spent like a whole afternoon talking about it and how it was so good and different and realistic, so i gave it a shot, and more than just a good story and animation, what really sets this whole piece of art aside is the OST, that's the best part off all this anime, not even the story, the monstrous art by Hiroyuki Sawano is what's really worth appreciating, his music saved this whole manga.

This really might be the best transformation in the entire series if I'm gonna be honest. Yes the Reiner Bertoldt reveal was absolutely insane, but for kind of a different reason. Bertoldt's resolve was indeed amazing, but I don't think either of them compare to this one. The sheer power and resolve in Eren's yell, the moment, everything happening leading up to it and around at the moment. It's just THE moment for Eren imho.

@@GrayWolf5000 I respectfully disagree. While I get Part 1 of Season 4 being disappointing, I really feel MAPPA has really stepped up their game and found a solid footing for S4 P2. The scene in "Sneak Attack" where Eren and Reiner were struggling with Reiner's inner dialogue which led up Eren letting out a visceral scream for the first time since Season 3 to Zeke's entry was done excellently imo. "Two Brothers" had some of the best moments in the whole series and is one of the most well directed episodes in the entire series in my opinion. Same goes for the last half of "Memories of the Future" and Eren's Founding Titan transformation and beginning of the Rumbling leading up to his speech in "From You, 2000 Years Ago". The scene in the video is great and impactful no doubt and while Wit's directors have completely different approaches to AoT from MAPPA's production team, I don't think it's better than *everything* MAPPA's ever done. Just my opinion.

@@percival6815 I agree that those scenes are great. But for me not on the level of Wits work. I respect your opinion, admittedly I have a lot of bias toward WIT, since I think they were perfect for AOT, and I think Season 1 and 2 are best anime ever. I think the rumbling scene where Eren gets the founder powers is awesome and they did a good job. But then they make his speech lackluster, and the scene with his face is literally just a panel from the manga. I just wonder how much better everything would be if wit animated this season, with the right time and budget. It would have been the best anime I guarantee it. But I am just frustrated we never got it.
