As per this market phenomenon, we use to say generic and branded generic. U are asking about generic. Obviously, branded generic is far better than generic. In real legal term, research brand is the only branded drug, rest other copy brands r generic.....

When Hospital doctor prescribes branded medicines, CGHS dispensaries issue some generic medicines with same salt and some branded medicines are issued and indented medicines are issued but all work. Incidents are there when Pradhanmantri Janaushadi shops sell with same salt with similar name. All work. Branded company medicines producers should reduce price and not charge exhorbitant price they print.

Both have own value. We need not entangle in comparison. Poor people have to balance between health and budget of family. Most importantly our health services and privatization aren't for welfare and wellness intended. Only money making businesses. To get specialization in medical science doctor have to spend lakhs/even crores if cost of hospital are included it's not possible to pay even electricity bill with generic medicine wellness program. Who is responsible for privatization of health and education system. Are we ready or really interested in solutions....
