I am shocked that a Japanese railroad company would allow this train with such a loud noise that sounds like a wheel with a flat spot to continue to operate with out repair.

Is it a flat sound? The continuous noise from the wheels is the sound of the wheels being scraped and squealing, so it must be repaired, but the daily pre-operational inspection has determined that the railway company has no problem with safety. I think. Inspection and repair at the repair shop should be performed every 90 days. The sound of the joints is inevitable because the rails are stretched by heat during the hot season, so they are spaced apart.

@@ys-train It is a thump, thump, thump, and it changes to faster and then slower as the train speeds up and slows down. I have heard it on many trains and in this trip it was very loud at times and must have been a very annoying trip for the passengers. This noise was in addition to the rail joint sound. Thanks for your answer.

The place where this was taken is not the guest room on the observation deck. The room is quieter (^^
