J.P.Sweelinck (1562-1621), the Amsterdam composer who wrote unbelievable masterpieces for organ and keyboard and inspired generations to come. You have requested me so many times to play his work. And I plead guilty for not doing it... as much as I really LOVE Sweelinck's work, I always felt that playing it on my big Saxon clavichord was like playing Mozart on a big Steinway. With this difference that Mozart on a Steinway can sound rather nice, while Sweelinck on a big clavichord, felt... I don't know.
But I tried it again and to my surprise, this time I was able to get the clavchord around Sweelinck's complex polyphony as this ricercar is a highlighted example of that.
Hope you enjoy. Let me know in the comments if you'd like to have more Sweelinck!
