Any car in the same product class have similar service cost. Its not like Jeep is the only costly car. There are several technical reasons for the comparatively higher cost. Jeep looks at Quality and not quantity.

For Jeep Compass, The first service is 15000 km or 1 yr, whichever is earlier. You can't delay the service coz you have not reached the target km. It will affect the warranty of the vehicle. So the service cost comparison between Maruti and Jeep is not appropriate.

Depends on how many kms you drive in a year. It's not about delaying the service but the opportunity to drive extra 5000 kms without worrying about oil service. I have a skoda rapid and a maruti alto k10. The 4 year 60000 package for Skoda cost me 30000. Maruti with similar kms would cost me the same. And I have driven 67000 kms in 3 years. Would a Maruti give me the experience of a Skoda ? Never ! Consider this an approximate all India trip distance covering the length and breadth of country is 15000 kms. If you take a maruti or hyundai or any other brand, you will have to compulsorily take one service in that trip. However a VW/Skoda or a Jeep can be taken for a full roundtrip till the next service. Ofcourse all those who buy these cars do not consider the long trips, but this is just an illustration. If one does not drive much, any of the korean, japanese, indian brands would do, but if one really looks at muching those extra miles, then no match for German/ European cars which offers better quality (build and ride). Again no match for Japanese cars in terms of engine reliability and quality. So it all depends on the buyer.

To the question to Anil ( the owner of Honda Amaze ) regarding following lane discipline ,how innocently and with doubt he answers not really ,despite wanting. The surprise hearing his answer was , he was in US for long years , where he had to follow not only lane discipline but all traffic rules. And that same person "Sunil " justifying reason or excuses of not practicing in India . Such is our attitude and mindset . When abroad we are civilised and have civic sense follow the rules of that foreign country and when in India " Meri Marzi" or my way of doing things and not bothered attitude .Pathetic. What use driving costly cars or hi end vehicles and intention is to give trouble to other good disciplined drivers . Typical Indian attitude When will basic sense come to majority Indian drivers?
