An interesting segment - thank you. As suggested by Mr. Widman's deeply held respect for Beethoven's violin concerto masterpiece and his concerns about "messing with it", perhaps his cadenza would have best been performed apart from Beethoven's masterpiece. Ms. Eberle, Simon Rattle, the LSO, and listeners would have been much better served by that approach.
