Jürgen Moltmann's Addition to the Creed

Here I briefly discuss Jürgen Moltmann's addition to the creed. He proposed adding these lines to more adequately capture the social and eschatological dimensions of Christ, where he saw the creed as focusing solely on the theological dimension.

I am a Lutheran MDiv student in Philadelphia. I have to tell you, I have been watching your videos and started recommending them to people. The material is really great. You really hit on this whole big conversation about theology that is really wonderful, and you speak about them in more practical and direct ways than a lot of people are willing to speak on formats like KZbin. This video is a great example of a video discussing a compelling and practical take from a wonderful theologian, and one I was not aware of. But I talk about the Creed so often with students at church and in class. This demonstrates that some very intelligent people are taking up the same kinds of questions they have and working them out in interesting ways. Thanks for doing what you do. I am officially a big fan (of everything except your lighting).

I just started an MA program myself at Luther Seminary. I am not quite Lutheran, but I have enjoyed learning more about it.

@@StephenDMorrison United Lutheran Seminary. Used to be Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. Now we are united, literally, with our seminary at Gettysburg. And this seminary is part of the group of seminaries for the ELCA that includes Luther. Small world!

Good analysis! I think I'd essentially agree with his statement theologically, but agree with you that the Creed itself shouldn't be changed without another ecumenical council. Luckily, my denomination, the PCUSA has a "Brief statement of faith" that does address the things Moltmann proposed
