@elements1985 hahah 1) I don't think he's really improved over the last 10 years is he suppose to send all his new stuff to you for approval? 2) the "Beat Junkie style" is not entirely unique to the Beat Junkies yeah now after a decade of puttin it down for turntableizm - jr high kids wanna be jrocc.. 3) where's the-well crafted newer material he's capable of? just because you havent herd it dont mean it dont exist.. hold tight and dont sleep on any of the beat junkies!

@miamiwax By no means am I a J.Rocc hater. He's legendary for a reason. Great taste (the Jaylib vs. J.Rocc mix was my favorite). Often brilliant conceptualizer of music and arrangement. Humble dude. Just haven't seen him really improve over the last 10 years. But I blame that partly on today's hip-hop scen: nobody pushes anybody. Underground is just as wack as the mainstream.
@chronicavengers14 жыл бұрын
@elements1985 have you ever seen jrocc live? its like seeing one of the 8th wonders of the world.. if you got it like that just battle jrocc..hit him up - he wont run from you.. instead of keyboard gangsta style, but you prob think our kush sucks too. #caallday

@chronicavengers "8th Wonder of the World". That's exactly what I'm talking about....What a joker a you are. Look I've been a fan of J.Rocc's for some time. My only points are: 1) I don't think he's really improved over the last 10 years 2) the "Beat Junkie style" is not entirely unique to the Beat Junkies 3) where's the-well crafted newer material he's capable of?
@elements198513 жыл бұрын
@genesis73 I dunno J.Rocc from a hole in the wall, but I know how lame hip-hop people are: I'm sure he feels more comfortable around critics than tip-riders.... Nevertheless, he remains one of my favorite DJ's. You're not getting backstage passes for vouching for on KZbin. Give it up.

@elements1985 i respect ur opinion but i gotta disagree. i was there for wmc when he put down one of the illest sets i ever witnessed in my life at the first james brown tribute at the marlin hote. check youtube, there is footage posted. he's a super solid dj, a real sureshot type cat. when he plays you know ur in for a treat. also he just released a new record recently that's pretty damn tight..

I don't think it was a "What are you doing?" like "cut it out" I think it was more like, "Damn son, what are tryna do?" aha I don't know if that makes sense but that's how I see it.

I love stones throw, Dilla, Madlib and MF DOOM are some of my favourite artists but the truth is J Rocc is waisted in Stones Throw. If he was signed to Warp or Brainfeeder he would be pushed so much further and better.

I tell you what, though -- I'm loving J.Rocc's production. Got a nice format going, and his songs are all highly enjoyable to listen to. Hip-hop went too slow in the BPM's. Nice to see these 110+ tracks circulating....
