Natürlich geht diese Idee des Angriffs, der nicht mehr geduldeten Übergriffe auch in der Zeitidee Bachs, im Zeitgeschmack immer noch auf die Kreuzzüge zurück, die ich (persönlich) aus heutiger Sicht nicht bestreiten möchte. So wird auch die höfisch-zeremonielle Herkunft mancher Choräle (und mag man sie als "Kantaten " auch altertümlicher bezeichnen) sichtbar. Bei aller vorherigen Transzendenz kann auch Bach mit all seiner Inbrunst, mit allem was er vorgetragen hat nicht immer alles erreichen

Makoto Sakurada does a very very good job in german language singing. He certainly did some intense rehearsal. The singing demands for sounds non-existing in japanese language and some in-deepth studies of pronounciation of this time music not even known to 0,1% german speakers. So a very good performance. Would rate it some 95% like native speaker. Which is a very very good rating for me. Where as especcially in Bach and Handel for me there must be some radical mathematical accuracy present. Many fail.

a cantata for the annunciation (though I do not think our Lutheran brothers and sisters deem the theotokos as as central to the mystery of salvation as we do) In any case Nicolai indicated the hymn as Brautlied ('Bridal song') of the soul addressing Jesus as its heavenly bridegroom, which refers to Psalm 45, described as a bridal song in the Luther Bible, and to the Song of Songs
