The opening melody and the bass aria are both sad and joyful at the same time. The alto-soprano duet is fabulous. This Cantata is different from all the ones I have heard so far. Thanks for all these free enjoyable works!

I've listened around KZbin various versions of the BWV 3 and this one, together with Suzuki's, is the best rendition. Excellent opening choir, Friedrich's expressive rendition of the aria (almost 'expressionist', which might be not for everyone's taste but it works very well here) and the very balanced duet (usually played either too slow with no flow or too 'shouty').

It provides great continuity to be able to experience a recent performance by this incredible group of musicians during the time of COVID, the black masks a symbol of what we are all enduring right now. I remember the impact that hearing this work performed by Harnoncourt's forces had on me back in the 1970s. This is a priceless gift to all of humanity, reminding us that light exists next to darkness. The duet with Gerlinde Sämann and Jan Börner is astonishingly beautiful, as is the rest of the work and the devotion of all of these artists. Bravo, and thanks!

What is NikitaVenturesMusic doing here recommending that you go from the Bachstiftung channel to her WokoMusic channel, before you can read all the additional information about this beautiful cantata, and miss the links to the fantastic Bachipedia. It's absolutely shameful!

As a dancer, I feel wrong and mistaken (- with that sung). As a performer, I would see it about music. In a kind of choir, I might feel comfirmed our I see gibblishing out the music, for the music went away and I can't ask to my lyrics anymore, rather then modulate kinds of arts.

Solution on that: "Jesus" is not a) considered a performer or maybe even like b) not so very much liked in his performance (?) or maybe even like c) was not notable to performance
