Among those I've heard, across instruments, this is the version that comes closest to rendering at the same time the staggering variety of mood, the precise formal complexity and the conceptual unity of the piece. Genius! (Thanks for sharing!)

Very highly polished version. Mr. Fukuda should be mentioned on the same breath with the John Williams out there IMHO. He puts a lot of emotion into every single piece he plays and it shows.

I'm going to reply to this comment from three years ago, because I completely agree with you. Fukuda is a highly underrated guitarist, with probably the best balance of technique and interpretive insightI've seen in a musician in a good while.

아시아에서는 신이치가 최고지요. 섬세하게 음악을 표현해 내려는 그의 표정이 보이는 듯 합니다. 역시 명연주입니다.

Jascha Heifitz is reputed to be the best violin interpretation availablem it is extraordinary..but I always preferred Segovia`s 1952 version, he actually scored the partita for guitar a phenomenal undetaking this new version is breathtaking im in awe thankyou for posting

Heifetz interpretation of the Chaconne is the absolute horror. He butchered the piece, playing it as if it was one of Paganini's caprices. Guitarists have a name for it: its called shredding. Nobody in their right mind plays Bach on the violin that way anymore although many violinists still abuse the Chaconne for self-aggrandisation, trying to show off. A true master let's Bach's music do its magic. Try Viktoria Mullova, Sigismund Kuiken and Rachel Podger. Not Heifetz, not Perlman, not Oistrakh, not Gitlis. They are all shredders.

Very well played indeed with a perfect sense for dynamic changes. A real achievement! But I wish I could have watched you do it!

dignity and deep respect come out from his fingers.
Hey just had a thought, Bach's Chaconne is believed to have been written around the time his first wife died. He was on holiday with his patron and returned to find his wife had passed. Rodrigo's Concierto was about the passing of his unborn child. 2 of the greatest pieces of music. Shakespeare could have written a remarkable sonnet about that.

No, he wasn't on holiday. He was sent to another town by his employer in order to buy instruments for his employer's orchestra.

It's not bad at all, the conduct and interpretation of voices are great, managing to highlight and differentiate at the time important details to express respect and a personal touch the work of Bach. very cute, great job.

A lot of post editing effects to make it sound like organesque. Having said that it is a strong a meaningful interpretation with a yes 'brittle' but strong sound, I prefer this to the soppy 'youthful' ;) versions out there on youlube.
