Wow this is my first time hearing this arrangement. I like it a lot more than the Busoni. This is exactly the treatment the continuo needs--smooth most of the time and stacatto when it needs to be. The way the upper voices are blended with the additional harmonies influenced by the orchestral score is perfect. I can appreciate what this arrangement does for the ending, but I personally prefer the way Busoni handles it. Emphasis on the low end instead of octaves in the melody.
