Beautiful unpolished sound indeed. I like this kind of sample sets. They reflect the real breathing and living organ. Very nice.

A very beautiful song, it has already been used by many composers. Bach has written a fantastic chorale arrangement, full of power and colour.

Indeed, the powerfuo melody does make it possible to go various ways.

This setting by Bach is amazing. He was well ahead of this time in many ways. Sometimes this led to irritations with the congregations where he was organist 😀 Great performance!

Thanks. Can you imagine having Bach as organist in your congregation, I would never leave the church building;)

Great sound that goes well with this Bach’s Choral Prelude👍 Mooi!! Bedankt Ralph🌹

Thanks, Clara! It's certainly not the most usual organ for Bach, but this piece is perfect for it.

What a nice chorale prelude, I didn't know this piece before! Especially the last chorale part with the chords shows again how Bach's tonal system was way more progressive than other contemporaries. Very good! ;)
@RalphLooij2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Michael. Yes, it's quite the piece, very different from how Bach treated this hymn in other chorale preludes.

It is Bach's little bon bons that are sometimes the most interesting to listen to. SO short and yet so full of life and polish. A wonderful registrations Ralph. I always love your tempos, and especially allowing the music to breathe enough. Very enjoyed. Mark
@RalphLooij2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Mark. I agree. Bach (even at his youngest age) always manages to put so much into just a few minutes.

Agreed. The gestures tell us more about the man than anything else in the music.

A new one for me also, Ralph. I was stunned by the augmented chord in the third from final measure. Wow. Bach was clearly pushing beyond what we believe was the norm of his day. Overall, brilliantly performed with great energy and using a splendid registration / sample set.
@RalphLooij2 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's a real surprise indeed (especially with this temperament). Bach was so young, but yet already seeking the limits. Thanks for listening, Christopher!
