Thank you conductor Lutz, vocalists, choir, woodwind, strings, cellos, contrabass, all... for a glorious and powerful delivery of Bach's, probably, second immortal masterpiece after Mathew's Passion, this Mass in G Minor. It was charged with an unmatchable flame of faith. The Cum Sanctu Spritum, this rising four part invention, crowned it all. Thank you. Thank you for your gift of faith for Lent 2023

1) The opening chorus of the G-minor Mass is a parody of the 1st movement of cantata BWV 102. 2) The Gloria is a parody of the 1st movement of cantata BWV 72. 3) The Gratias is a parody of the 4th movement of cantata BWV 187. 4) The Domine fili is a parody of the 3rd movement of cantata BWV 187. 5) The Qui tollis - Quoniam is a parody of the 5th movement of cantata BWV 187. 6) The Cum sancto Spiritu is a parody of the 1st movement of cantata BWV 187.

De las Cuatro misas breves luteranas de Bach, ésta es mi favorita, por su simplesa, compleja, bella, encantadora incluso hasta Pastoral, esa tonalidad en sol menor me da mucha tranquilidad y paz. Y sobretodo cantar al Señor que solo cantarle al público. Compuesta para el culto. Gracias.

Eine hervorragende Erklärung dieser Musik findet sich auf dieem Kanal, wenn man nach der Kantate 102 sucht, die ja die musikalische Vorlage für das "Kyrie" ist. Ich stelle zum widerholten Male fest, dass mich der Herr Lutz in den Workshops besonders fasziniert. Allein seine Keyboard-Einlagen sind einfach exorbitant fantastisch!!

purtroppo la grave crisi sociale che ci attanaglia si riflette anche sulle eccellenze musicali e non risparmia anche uno dei più grandi gruppi musicali che hanno dato vita alla musica di Bach con Rudolf Lutz grande rivitalizzatore del sommo compositore. ma ora purtroppo assistiamo al decadimento della capacità di affrontare con delicatezza e vigore e sentire e non più scavare lo spirito, ma solo note e polifonia. me ne rammarico ma senza imputare una responsabilità a chi ci ha dato tanto nel immediato passato. Onore a Rudolf Lutz. è questo tempo, il nostro tempo che ci sta devitalizzando

The connection between members of the audience during a live concert and performers is as much visual as it is audial. To deliberately break the visual sense of music making, in my view diminishes the relationship. When I attend a live concert I can literally at times feel the blast of the music, as its created before me, this is so particularly with large orchestras. I would not enjoy listening with my back turned away by from the performers, it’s as though you’re rejecting them. Presumably done for reasons of Covid. Bach would not have approved. Organ recitals are different of course.

Exactly. The pews are fixed. This arrangement in many churches was to have the choir and organ in back as to lead the congregation in singing. It was part of the worship service and less of a performance.

Una bellissima esecuzione; trovo la pronuncia "tedesca" sempre un po' dura rispetto alla pronuncia "italiana" che addolcisce alcune componenti fondamentali della parola cantata. A parte questo, il direttore trova sempre il modo migliore di accentuare i dettagli e dare nello stesso tempo una buona visione d'insieme alla più bella delle quattro "messe brevi". Un plauso a tutti gli artisti che concorrono a fare di questa registrazione un sicuro punto di riferimento.
