The introduction to Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier, one of the most important works in keyboard history. Through his two books of 24 Preludes and Fugues, one for each minor and major key, Bach showed the world the possibilities of equal temperament, which is still used in almost all music written today, from classical, to rock, to pop. This concept of writing pieces in all 12 keys went on to inspire other composers too, from Chopin and Liszt, to Rachmaninoff and Shostakovich.

I believe this was published in 1722, so just over 300 years ago. That's before electricity, audio recordings, cars, planes, steam trains, phones, and most modern medicine. I used to love really hard a girl years ago that tried to play this because she knew I was playing piano and that I was fond of classical music. We eventually broke up and not so long time ago I couldn't even hear this song without remembering her negatively. During that time I really lost my mental and got into a depression, because of the break up but also because of a lot of unfortunate events that chained with that. Now I'm on peace, and re-listening to that brings me huge nostalgia of a very determinate past time of my life that I won't forget ever. Maybe this girl hurt me as much as good, maybe that I idolized her too much, and that today she no longer think about me anymore, but everything is forgiven and I know I will die with no hard feeling and regret. Music isn't just melody, it's a lifetime.

forget twinkle twinkle little star. this is the perfect beginner's song. do not be intimated whatsoever. you can learn this in a day or few and feel like you've accomplished a lot. if you have good memory, whether by sound memorization or muscle memory in the hands, you will learn it very very fast. simply play it at the speed you are comfortable with. the progression is incredibly intuitive to learn. it is essentially left to right for 5 notes, repeat to the end of the song, at which point there is a minor reversal.

Especially at: 0:48 , 1:00 , 1:07 ,1:40 to the end Today: This girl cheated on me by becoming friends with a fool in my class.

Just watched a time lapse video of an old cool Italian guy who restores an ruin of a house and I heard this piano music which stopped me in my tracks , I wasn't even watching the show, luckily he included the composer in the description and here I am , disappointed this version is almost at twice the tempo, it looses its emotional power as you have to feel the delicate changes in the chord voicings to fully appreciate the beauty, I love these rare moments when you think there are little few surprises left ! JS Bach ! Wow, sorry I,m so late to the party, simply, stunning x.
