I knitted this beauty in a creamy white for my sil who lives in cold Vermont (I am in Florida) and I added 2 side “slip-your-hand-in “ style pockets.Thank you so much. I have owned the book that the lace pattern came from but had really never used it until you showed me how to. Thank you J and Bless you.

Auntie-Grandma, you rock! So overjoyed to have found your channel! I was explaining something to my grandsons and had to laugh at myself when I said, "Does that make sense?" I not only watch your videos for content, but also listen to your soothing voice in the background while doing other chores LOL

Hi my friend and welcome to J's K&P Jam! Because I had to teach myself to knit back in the day, I would have to ask myself, does that make sense?? LOL! If it did, then I would remember and do it over and over until I got it! Thank you so much for watching, smiles from J.

J thank you for this tutorial which encouraged me to knit my first ever top down sweater!! I knitted this for a young girl of 13, who is the daughter of my employee, in a lovely yellow and the result has been most encouraging. I will be doing a couple more projects based on your tutorials and will certainly inform you. Thank you for your guidance!

J's Help Box: Shorter sleeves, make decreases at the end of the 4th. round. Med. length sleeves, make decreases at the end of the 6th. round. Longer sleeves, make the decreases at the end of the 8th. round. Work your first (4 - 6 or 8) rounds without any decreases. Then work all of your decreases, and at the end, work another (4 - 6 or 8) rounds without any decreases again before you switch to the #8 dpn needles to start the cuffs. Happy Knitting, smiles from J.

J- if you want new knitters to stay on US9 circulars- just have them use 2- half stitches of sleeve on each one. It is much easier than DPNs.and with your suggestion of using the circulars for stitch holders, many will already own 2.

Hey mrs J, my stitches appearance changed when I switched from flat to round knitting for the sleeves. I don't know if the problem is me knitting continental. HELP!
@JsKnitandPurlJam5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for giving this lace edge sweater a try. I don't know about knitting continental style in the round or flat. But in my tutorial, I did not change the needle size to knit the sleeves since you do not have to pick up any stitches, until I reached the cuffs. If you change the size, then the stitch gauge will change too. I hope that this helps. Smiles from J.

If the sweater is knit on an 8 would you drop down one size for neck ribbing to a 7?
@JsKnitandPurlJam6 жыл бұрын
Hi Ruth and Thanks for asking. All the information, and the numbers are for a #9 needle size. You can use a #8 for your sweater, but you will have to work out your own numbers and formula to knit this. Did you see my size chart from sweater 101? kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4HSanSee9acfsk, at about 28 mins into the tutorial. I hope that this helps. Smiles from J.
