I have been watching your channel for a week now and want to make many items that you've made. I'm just starting lace knitting and have found your channel is favored because of your teaching methods. I prefer channels that actually show you the stitches while knitting them. My preferred method of learning. Love your channel and upbuilding talks.

I just love you and your gentle spirit. I so enjoy your videos. It's been a while since I've been knitting or crocheting because my DH got cancer and required a lot of care, especially toward the end. He did not win the battle so I am slowly coping with all that goes with losing a spouse. My spirit needs healing and I think your videos will contribute to refocusing my life. Your talent is obvious and I hope I can regain my enthusiasm for my crafting and begin working on my knitting and crocheting again and do your projects justice. Thank you so very much.

Words do matter...what a perfect theme for the year. I can carry that idea into my entire life. Words matter in my relationships with my family. Words matter in my relationships at work. Words matter, a lot, on social media. I made a decision not to participate in Facebook because of all the cruel, mean and untrue words flying around there. I don’t want to enrich a company that cares more about profit than the health of the country and the world. Jesus said, “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” In other words what comes out of your mouth reveals what you treasure in your heart. J, I only hear loving and kindness in your words. I really appreciate you and your willingness to share your techniques. You make knitting and crochet so much easier. Thank you.

I snuggle under a pile of blankets on my recliner chair and crochet! I had to give my neck, shoulders and hands a break this week; but I did design a little hat and am working on a coordinating cowl. Also finishing the fringe on that scarf in your pattern & then I'll upload a vid with it. I've yet to make your wildflowers vest from last year; but I have the yarn for it, same as yours! I've lost some weight and glad I waited. I start PT tomorrow and will keep me busier than usual. I just lost a dear friend yesterday. She found out a week before her condition was terminal and it happened so quickly from there. Her name was Judy, like your friend. I thought of you a lot and your loss. This video of yours was especially touching and helpful at this time. I wanted you to know how deeply I felt it and how much it means to me. Sorry for long reply. I just found you and started following your patterns. Do you ever post any of your information sheets for us who want to knit along and desire to have a printed pattern? And coming from crocheting to learning to knit in Oct 2019 I never thought I would take to knitting as you are well aware in crocheting we won't swatch and I hate swatching That's why I love your videos that use basic needle sizes for every pattern or knitted projects you use. That's such a great idea and more knitters should follow your lead!!! I love your basic swatch it makes more sense to me as we tend to knit the same way 99% of the time.

Hi J, I have a question on your sample you did B4 6 stockinette stich and 37 of the design. How about the the full blouse. You did B6 then 85 then B6, so you did not do stockinette stich on the blouse? Pls. advise Thanks. I'm watching your video before I will try to do it.
@JsKnitandPurlJam5 жыл бұрын
Happy New Year my friend! On my sample scarf, I added a 4 stitch border on each side, but on the sweater no extra border is needed. I knit the 1st and last stitch, then knit in stockinette over to the lace section following my working formula across. I'm excited that you are going to give this lace stitch a try, so I hopes that this helps. Happy Knitting, smiles from J.
@kathytellier38065 жыл бұрын
Hi J...I am going to start this pattern soon. Can you clarify something for me...when I purl all the wrong side rows...you say do not purl the borders...knit them. Are you only referring here to your sample 4 stitches of border or are you including the 6 stitches also when you say do not purl the border?? When making the actual sweater I will have an 8 stitch border on either side fir my medium sweater. I DO NOT purl these in the wrong side? I knit them? Would I not get a garter stitch then? Your sample swatch having the 4 stitch border confused me on this since you say..do not purl the borders?
@JsKnitandPurlJam5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Kathy for asking. On my sample I have 4 stitches that you will knit every row for a garter stitch border, in case you want to knit a scarf too. On your sweater formula, there are no extra border stitches, and the 6 stitches before and after the lace, you will work them in stockinette stitch, except I knit the first and last sts. on every row. I hope that this helps, and Happy Knitting! Smiles from J.

Ms Jay, I am confused with the math you have done as you say you have 6 stitches either side but when you knit it seems there are 6 plus 4 garter st, I cant seem to work it out, so your 97 stitches dont seem to incorporate the 4 either side
@JsKnitandPurlJam5 жыл бұрын
Hi Roz, and thanks for asking. Sorry for the confusion, but the sample is for a scarf which has a 4 stitch border on each side. Then the sweater formula has 6 stitches of stockinette on each side of the lace section. When I knit, I always knit the 1st and last stitch, then work across my row. I hope that this helps.
