J.Wikmanson Sonate Göran Söllscher guitar

In the early 1780:s the Swedish composer Johan Wikmanson (1753-1800) wrote three sonatas for an instrument named ’cittra’ also called English guitar or in French cistre. Only one of the sonatas has been found but this one in B-minor is a beautiful exemple of music from this period in Sweden.

I love the space and the clarity. The tension of tightrope walking having to be precise in every step in preparation for the next. Some tricky shapes in there. I feel greatful to be a listener intensely glued to the now in anticipation of resolution and resolve.
