There isn't any doubt that F16 block 70 is the best 4th gen single engine fighter aircraft at present but for PAF J10C is an excellent choice for multiple reasons that do not require much elaboration. PAF though requires a twin engined fighter-bomber with super cruise capability for sustained periods !!

The cheaper the better non of these systems will last very long on a modern battel field. Modern air defence will keep these things far out . Drone technology is essential Well trained men large reserves and strategic depth . Ammunition and artillery systems built locally and hardened underground facilities . Good relations with Iran and Afghanistan are essential for Pakistan if they are to have any chance to fight and hold back attack from India.

No doubt America is beast in terms of aero dynamics and air craft manufacturing, F22-35 single engine is the example, as far as pakistan is concerned, pakistan only needs to think about long range air defense system but also long range air to air missiles, because pakistan cant compete the world bit by bit but at least can maintain minimum good systems to defend, just like India now got S400 system so any another air combat result can be surprisingly for pakistan this time

In Block-2 aircraft Turkey's 🇹🇷 indigenous engine will be used. The pace of development of Turkey's 🇹🇷 local engine will be increased because when Turkey 🇹🇷 alone was working on this project still then R and D cost was 50 billion dollars 💵. First, Pakistan is one of the largest countries in the world. Second, a medium weight fighter allows for more armaments. Meaning more bombs and missiles can be put on a medium weight than a light weight fighter. Third, the J10C has more advanced sensors, and far more hard points. The Thunder is meant as a work horse capable of contesting air space. The J10C is meant for an air superiority role.
