Tui Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner London Gatwick to Melbourne Florida

Our summer holidays have well and truly begun! Here’s our flight experience onboard Tui airlines’ 787-9 dreamliner from London Gatwick to Melbourne Florida including the check in process, embarkation, take off and landing, unfortunate delays, food and drinks services onboard, getting stuck at the gate im Florida in a storm and our general experience and review of an economy seat. Is this good value?!

Absolutely loved the Dreamliner when we flew to Mexico, the mood lighting really does help with jet lag. The inflight entertainment had plenty of choice, food was better than average and a great selection of drinks.

We have just booked to going out back to are favourite holiday destination for the fifth time in September it will be the first time back since are holiday was cancelled in 2020 because of covid it was are 40th wedding anniversary in march so we were determined to celebrate a beech this year the first time went to Jamaica was in 2006 it was on a DC10 the last times on the dream liner which is a great aircraft Tui have always looked after well on each holiday with them

Dreamliners are used by Qantas long haul via Singapore to London Heathrow it cuts the jet lag is very comfortable compared to the A380 aircraft.

I haven't flown long haul for an age now so i enjoyed seeing the dream liner, it looked quite comfortable. Last time i flew to Florida it was over 13 hours. I also agree, that last couple of hours are the worst. I guess Guardians of the Galaxy as your movie, good choice if i am correct.

Dreamliner is a wonderful aircraft, we went in the first 10 rows and paid for premium, it was alot but it was worth every penny, talking about storms we actually did get struck by lightning while waiting to depart Cuba on the return journey, it delayed us by 2 hours while they checked the aircraft, we sat on the aircraft while this was going on, not nice so in total we was on it for about 11 hours, what a wonderful aircraft though.

Wow that was such a quiet take off. How would you compare Tui with Virgin Jamie? I am very scared of flying now after suffering with 2 blood clots BUT I wouldnt let it stop me going. Done WdW 19 times now but not been since 2015 . Just catching up on some of your disney trips as a fairly new subscriber. Would you say Melbourne is easier to get through than mco? Looking forward to your TR . Glad to see Matthew is partaking xx

Melbourne usually easier to get through but this time around d it was a bit slow. I do prefer the Virgin experience although Tui Dreamliners are so much quieter!

You may or may not have turbulence at any time on any flight. I find the return sometimes is more turbulent with strong tail winds but never a certainty. I think our coach had a toilet but of course they’ll not be using the same one every trip so no guarantee. I think most American coaches would have one, however

A shame about the delay but it seems to be the norm now. We have just booked our first ever Marella Cruise on Discovery 2 14 nights 11:08 Fascinating Far East March 2024. (Adult only itinerary) We've booked Premium economy but good to see that economy looks fine because you never know that you'll get the seat you've paid for these days. Do you know the difference between Discovery and Discovery 2. Looking forward to seeing your video.
