On the 19 August I visited Menorca for the second time this year. I was due to fly on the BY2514 on a Boeing 767-300(ER) G-OBYK, but due to a slat issue with that aircraft we were swapped onto a 787-9 that was pulled out to provide the service instead.
Pretty crazy, but incredibly rare occurrence!
Great chance to fly the Boeing 787-9 since I've never flown the Dreamliner before.
My stay in Menorca was just 1 night at the Isla Paraiso Hotel located in Arenal D'en Castell north of the island.

I flew one of TUIs 787-9 and 787-8 (G-TUIO and G-TUIE) on an 8 hour flight to Punta Cana this summer from Manchester (and back). They were the absolute best flights I've ever been on.

I think TUI's Dreamliner Experience is overlooked as being just another long / short haul experience, but after a few flight on them I can certainly say they are just so comfy and relaxing to fly on. TUI do a great job catering on these long & short services. I can defiantly relate Jacko 👍

Flew on a 787 4 times with tui down to cancun (Mexico) don’t like flying on it though as they blacked out the windows as we flew over New York😭. Apart from them not allowing us to see out of the windows it was an experience that not many people get to do

Yeah it’s a rubbish aeroplane that 787, Boeing even didn’t carry over any technology to the 777-9

Flew on this back in 2019 to Mexico and it's the best plane I've ever flown on, so smooth and can tint the windows in flight so get a better rest

Thats pretty incredible! The flight was great, it was meant to be on a TUI 767 doing this route, but the supposed aircraft had a slat issue so got swapped to Pixie Dust! I'm glad you're thrilled to me in the video. Take Care Josh!

I don’t find the 787 cabin spacious at all in economy, except for JAL. They had to make it 9 abreast for making the operating and fuel burn per trip seem better

If you’ve flown on a 787 like me, you’ll know what I mean by this: Everything on this is crazy! In-flight entertainment, window automatic shaders, incredibly wide seats, huge windows, more! Imagine you in the princess of the skies, and seeing a tiny 737-200 parked there way down below you! I feel so powerful when that happens on my airlines !

@@ollyramsey6674 I usually ask head cabin steward or Stewardess. It’s a 70% chance they will let you in, but if there is a short turn around you may be denied access. Tip. Just be as friendly and as well spoken as possible - usually does the trick Olly👍

I'm getting the 767 flight flight to menorca start of October I love both the 767 and the 787 but it would be a treat if it changed to the 787. And would love a look in the cockpit

It was a great flight olly. Very rare occurrence that the TUI 787-9 operates the MAH route. The 767 we were meant to fly on that morning had a slat issue. Thanks for watching

The Economy Seat width is only 17” in the 787 vs the 767’s 18”. I know which one I’d rather be flying long haul.

I find the TUI 767-300 Particularly Cramped Stuart, especially in the 2-4-2 Configuration. The TUI 787 was far more roomy and legroom and seat pitch were abundantly larger than the older jets. Thanks for checking out my video.

Why a dreamliner to Menorca makes no sense these are long haul aircraft,as you can see the plane is pretty much empty

It wasn't rostered to do the flight, the original aircraft had an issue with the slats on the wings. I mentioned the reason right at the beginning of the video.

I have flown on this plane to and from Barbados over the last 2 weeks the crew were miserable and abrupt and despite the fact my partner ordered vegan meals when booking the holiday they still had no clue about it on both flights It was my first long haul flight and probably my last...we also had to sit separately on return ...8 hours of hell..Needless to say the cruise part of this trip was amazing
