Got a funny new crew "incident" from my previous boat (a quarter tonner). All halyards and other control lines were on so called "piano" and the "piano" man was new, so at upwind mark, he hoisted spinnaker and released main halyard instead of genoa halyard. Luckily main boom did not hit anyone's head and main dropped only 2 meters, so we got it up pretty fast.

Hindsight is always 20/20, eh? Heading up to go to windward of the serial-fouling c&c was good. Doing it during the set would've been better, as would've gybing away quickly then gybing back once ahead.

Thank you for the comment, and 100% correct on that. Been a good learning year and seeing it now should have been the move. Stay safe and now we are starting the laser racing too

Need weight on the rail not on the bow - too much heel
