So, I am on the fence about getting this watch,. My number 1 requirement is an accurate standalone GPS mode. Some say this watch fails in that department. Should I just get a Garmin??

It’s important to remember this is a $100-150 watch. A ultra accurate garmin is 3-5x that price, so adjust your expectations realistically. If my Life depended on GPS system, I wouldn’t use either watch, I’d use a GPS satallite system for outdoors… I have never had issues with it, I use it just to track my outdoor runs and pacing. Not sure to what extent you truly need the GPS

Solar won’t add much life to watches of this magnitude. My garmin fenix will only pick up 24 hrs of battery with a week of optimal sun exposure.

It has outdoor walking. I just do freestyle on weightlifting and workout stuff. Honestly main difference is anything outdoors or traditional cardio allows you to see your pace and GPS mapping. For weightlifting or anything in gym, heart rate is about all you need

New Sub...Just purchased watch...if indestructible , why are they offering the face screen protector? I've already paid now but something isn't sitting with me correctly. I just want a super heavy duty watch that can let me know if I am having a heart attack while on my yak in the middle of the ocean going for tuna. Not sure. I don’t use the screen protector. If in the open ocean I wouldn’t solely rely on this watch gps. Get the right gear for the job. This is a $100-150 dollar watch, it was a great replacement for my $100 g shock, but I’m not claiming it has the most legit spec like a $1000 watch would. So keep that in mind. That said. I like mine, and it does what’s needed (time, sleep tracking, timers, text, calls, steps, hear rate although I don’t pay attention that for fitness workouts, but it gets it continually when I’m not lifting). Ps, best of luck fishing, I too am avid angler @musclemikefishing. I’ll Be out this weekend in Florida in yak in mangroves going for snook, tarpon, and redfish… so I’ll let ya know if a massive tarpon gives me heart a go and this watch can pick it up lol

Did you get the watches? I ordered the same. I have to say I kind of ordered them on impulse. I should have done more research. I attempted to cancel the order before they filled the order and gave me a shipping #. They did not respond. I did it in the window. So I go them they are not as solid as you might think. decent looking. But I would not hold out much hope of them being durable. I def would not recommend them. Just have them to ware something different form my appl watch which I love. Far far superior product.

Other than you not understanding the watch, what else are you saying it is bad for? The most important factor about any smart watch is the measuring accuracy by the watch sensor. I question how accurate heart rate, SO2 etc is on Alpha Gear as compared to an Apple Watch which has been tested in a lab by a PHD. The sensor in the Apple watch has proven to be very accurate in measuring heart rate, SO2 etc. Apple uses one of the most accurate sensors available. How accurate is the Alpha Gear watch sensor?

lol. well im not a lab, so I am not sure. but i have had no issues and feel my data is good enough for me to run with it. I also have had so so experiences with apple watch with that bio feedback, so IF i really had to have THE BEST feedback, i would get a garmin that is like 1k.... but this is a budget watch that is indestructible, so keep that in mind. Its not promising elite abilities at a budget price. Its promising good metrics and being tough, which is great for most people.

I like the raptor (again, I havent used the trex 2), but its very durable, and its about $40-50 less than the trek 2. But yea, I have no problems with the Raptor specs, design, and battery, comfort, look, and durability.

I bought a Bravo with the Altimeter, GPS tracking, compass - WAY OFF!! The altimeter constantly reads MINUS 1275' when i live at 2760' - no help from support to calibrate or reset. Be cautious to buy one of these!! All marketing - no support.

Walt Folks...did you actually read the User's Guide Warning for this "supposedly" sturdy watch? If I'm a Swimmer, I most certainly would expect to be able to use the buttons underwater. If I go to a warm beach to do water aerobics, etc., I will likely submerge the watch in seawater. SMH. NO, this is not a ruggedized watch, and one must be conscience of the environment you're in while using this device.

Almost any watch no matter it's water resistant unless specifically meant to be a diving watch will tell you not to press buttons underwater

A lot to unpack here. If you demands are that intense, then you should get a military grade, scuba tested watch. I’ve swam, submerged, and tracked fitness w this on for prolonged periods, and no issues. But do what you want, you seem to need something more than this (and to be clear, I made it very clear this is a gray value for most people, but not all who have these demands… if you watched the full video)

SCAM ALERT ⚠️ This company and the watches they sell are crap! And many of the features they advertise are spotty at best, or don't work at all i.e. the sleep monitoring mode. I've heard of certain companies "sponsoring" people to give their products a positive review...not saying that's the case here, but I've heard of that.
