Recipe name- Gahat dal ke Dubuk
Preparing time- 20 minutes ( Soaking extra time)
Cooking time- 30 minutes

Garlic-10-15 cloves
Green chili-3-4 medium
Salt - to taste
Cumin-1 tsp
Coriander seeds-3 tsp
Mustard oil-4 tbsp + 1 tbsp
Cumin-1 tsp
Onion-2 medium
Asafoetida-1/2 tsp
Red chili powder-1/2 tsp
Coriander powder-1 tsp

In himachal also its kulath dal. We soak it, boil it , grind it then normal tadka. But we make it little sour by adding mango powder of tamarind. Taste yum. Boiled dal can cure cold and cough and even kidney stone. We use this mostly in winter.

In maharashtra in Konkan region it is called as kulith (कुळीथ) and in ghat region it is called as hulge (हुलगे) In maharashtra we make ( पिठले) out of it. The process is same, but we use flour of kulith and roast it thoroughly on slow flame (as same we do for gehu ka halwa) with onion, tomato, cumin seeds mustered seed and curry leaves. After that we add adequate amount of water and on top of that ghee and coriander levels and we done!

In Uttrakhand we make same dish with urad daal. We grind it roast it (in oil jeera garlic ginger paste n green chilly. In my region we call it chains Or chaisu.

अगदी बरोबर दादा. कुळीथाची पिठी हल्ली हरवत चालली आहे. खुपच कमी लोकांना ही रेसिपी माहीत आहे. एकतर कुळीथ आणा मग भाजा आणि दळुन आणा हा उपद्व्याप कोणी करत नाही. हल्ली लोकांना सगळेच इन्स्टण्ट हवे आहे. हल्ली घरी बणणारे पापड, कुरडया आणि फेण्या सगळंच फक्त गावापूरताच मर्यादित राहिले आहे. तुमच्या मुळे या सगळ्या गोष्टींची पुन्हा एकदा आठवण झाली आणि मन भरून आलं. धन्यवाद.

Yes it's kulth Himachal main yeh winter season main khate hain iski khicdi bnate hain or Bedbi bhturu bhi bnate hain. I found this daal kulth horse grams in UK 🇬🇧 aswell. Thanks for sharing your recipe.

Sir ye dubuke hmko bahut bahut pasnd h ,, aaj fir se iski yade nayi kr di apne ,,, and ye Jo apne salt wali bat batayi ye to hm v krte h always two time namak ,,, great test 😋😋😋😋😋 really bahut testy hota h , ye up me nhi milta so hm kafi year se nhi kha paye h.... Mere country "Nepal" me bhi isko gahat hi bola jata hai , magar hum log gahat ko bina grind kiye hi paka lete hain. Aur gahat ki tasir garam hoti hai isiliye hum log ise sirf winter season me hi prefer karte hain summer me nahi. Anyway mai is tarike se jaroor try karunga .Humesa ki tarha aap best ho sir ji.

My granny used to make a dish called Batkhar in the same process by using kale chane. Very nice Sir these are our traditional dishes and we should protect them and pass on to our next generation. I'll try this dish for sure.

उत्तराखंडी हूं और उत्तराखंड का फूड मेरा fevourite है ,लखनऊ मैं रहती हूं और हमेशा बनाती हूं ,और खाती और खिलाती हूं मेरे बच्चे लंदन में रहते हैं वहा भट्ट गहत भांग जंबू सब मिलता है वहा भी खूब बनता है 🙏

*Good Evening Chef* Is dal ko Rajasthan ke Mewad side ke area may *Khulat Ki Dal* bola jata hai. Or is dal ko winter may *Gaat* (makka ka daliya) or *Tilli ke Tel* ke sath khaya jata hai.
