50 was well known long before he came out. Multiple labels knew his talent and didn’t sign him because of his street beefs . Ja , jay z , irv and all the NY rappers knew 50 was coming and along with prem was black balling him because he was one of the very few that lived the life he rapped and had street and music cred .So like the phrase says “ when your friends (aka NY rappers producers and labels) turn their backs on you , all you can trust is strangers. “ so he went with a midwest and west coast team that would see his music talent and not be jealous of him.
