I play this every time it is a snowy day and I'm relaxing at home. I guess it's because the first twenty or so minutes of the game are in a wintery area but it always seems to make sense to play when I'm snowed in and watching the flakes gently fluttering about in the air.

Calming and reassuring? More like dripping with dread and sadness, as if foretelling a great destruction that is on the horizon. It made me feel depressed and hypnotized even before I pressed New Game.
