Funny name. I'm sure they are decent planes but I'd recommend having a modern sleek looking model that's light with a killer glide ratio. Low wing. Risen cruises at 300km/h with a 100HP engine. At 190km/h it uses 1½gallon an hour. And it's a wide side by side even. Imagine what a tandem could be. A Jabiru uses 3 times that fuel going a bit slower. A BD5 could cruise at 370km/h with a 70HP engine. I like to say that optimization is king. Imagine a low cost plane that can go 400km/h efficiently. It could beat commercial flights up to 1000km. I believe a well made LSA can provide near private jet versatility. New York to Bahamas in 4 hours or LA to SF in 1:20. That gets you places. If it's possible, why not.

Strange name? Jabiru is an Aboriginal name for a large bird. This comment is entirely composed of pointless drivel

You missed the point, sport pilots can only fly 120kts/hr and or 138mph, perfect plane for such!!!!!!!

plus the price tag at up around 300K

Bit like comparing a Toyota to a Lamborghini though.. not really a fair comparison

@@gooberscuba no that's the thing, what I propose could be done in LSA size, weight, complexity and price. An aerodynamic shape doesn't cost more and say you have a 200kg 4 seater without engines, imagine how tiny turbofan jet engines could be to power it. So imagine an LSA with two small jet engines. And free yourself from the erroneous beliefe that jets waste fuel because the world distance record belongs to an off the shelf simple jet engine, the williams FJ44-4 going 40000km without refueling. A Jabiru wont go that far. Get the vision.

not that they are crap but they look so shit every single one of them , like kindersurprise toy worst design. The cockipit is like unfinished project cables hanging loose all trims hanging out , fuel smells so bad. Its a complete death machine wouldnt want to fly one.
