Jaboticabas are hands down my favorite fruit trees in my collection! Mine are in Promix medium with added growstone for drainage. Also added rice hulls and rockdust for additional minerals every 3-4 months. Extremely healthy fruited in 3yrs! Best tree to live with long term! Always love the content green dreams 🔥🔥🔥

I am Brazilian and where I live here in Brazil we have lots of jaboticabas tree! When I was a kid I use to climb jaboticabas tree and eat lots of jaboticabas me and my friends had lots of fun! The only sad thing about climbing the three is anywhere you step in the tree branches will not grow jaboticabas again.

Thank you for this info video!!! Our tree is planted in the ground and in full sun for over a year, the bark is peeling but all the leaves are greenish yellow since spring and we are worried so we gave it for fertilizer, no change. We will take your tips and see if we can improve the soil for it!!

Hi, I just got my first tree, and I am going to plant it. I came to your channel to review what kind of soil to plant it in. I am going to keep it in a pot. On a side note, I have not tasted this fruit yet. I have to say that as a native miami person, my favorite fruit remains the mango, and i love muscadine grapes, I think they do grow in homestead, (not sure) I am also crazy about florida avocados (sp). After seeing flying fox fruits grafting videos, I need to search around for my favorite avocados. Thank you for all of the good stuff that you do.

Don't worry about planting out a grove of Reds. Jabos are like Pokemon. You've got to catch them all!

If you take your cold tolerant potted plants and place them around the trees that are not cold tolerant during the cold season it will help those trees to survive

It should be okay, but if it gets too large you might want to consider planting farther from foundation, but that will take many years

Instead of changing soil, I just throw some cinnamon and a few teaspoons of epsom salt on top and it works for all kinds of plants for me

That is the red variety. You can buy seed from flying fox fruits.

Jabos grow well in the shade but they do not fruit well in the shade. The more sun hits the bark the more fruit you're going to get.

I have a jaboticaba as well. I was just wondering if you know why the tips of the leaves are turning brown, almost black. (on some, but not all leaves).

They can be very common with Jabo’s. Just keep the moisture up and make sure the soil isn’t too broken down if in a pot. They don’t really like worms.

I just brought some strains of powdered mycorrhiza. I added the powder to liquid and sprayed the root balls.

Are you guys taking cuttings? Speed up maturity. Expand propagation. Potentially create a commercial side to it by selling off a few hundred/thousand each year. Use those online informal markets like Ebay etc.

It’s totally worth the wait! Get a red, they can fruit in 5-6yrs. I have mature reds ready to fruit for $150.

@@deathlesszero I did think I could hide it! Busted. No I normally but everything pre-mixed in bulk, I should have done that with this one too. There was no added ingredients but I HATE supporting them don't worry.
