UPDATE: - Ends up the the ANC is actually better on these than my AirPods Pros Gen 1. I also find them to be more comfortable. Transparency mode is one of the best I've tried. But still gets destroyed by the AirPods Pro. - The Siri issue I was having randomly resolved itself. I can now hear her through my earbuds.

@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 2 жыл бұрын
@@alllivesmatter3561 The AirPods Pro have the best Transparency by a significant margin over everyone else on the market. The newest Gen 2 AirPods Pro I would say are superior in every category (assuming you have an iPhone) over these though. But compared to the Gen 1 I'd say they are a lateral trade. Meaning they win some and lose some against each other but are essentially equal. But these are a lot less money.

Hi Thomas. I have a pair of these arriving from Amazon in a few hours here in California. I have the Bose QC buds and the Apple Pros. I have had the Sony xm4 but sent them back because they were so uncomfortable. I really liked the sound on the Sonys, but comfort is still so important. 7 out of 10 times I still reach for my Apple Pros when sitting here in my recliner because they multipair to my iPhone and my MacBook Air. I took the Bose QC on a recent airplane trip and they did great. I do not find myself reaching for them very often. I am hoping that the 7 Pro's can kind of be like my Apple Pros, just something good that I will enjoy using without much thought. I have to admit I do not "need" another pair of earbuds, but I do enjoy learning and using the latest and the greatest. God bless and I am glad to have found your review.

Thanks for taking the time to comment! Always enjoy reading these types of comments. I totally get not NEEDING something but still wanting to experience and enjoy the latest and greatest. Which is why this KZbin channel even exists. I am right there with you. Finding earbuds that are as seamless and easy as the AirPods Pros is hard. I found these to be the best alternative that I've tried and have some seriously impressive tech in them. I've found they tend to just work and I enjoy using them. Shockingly I have found myself reaching for them over my AirPods Pros from time to time which is a first for me. But my left earbud for my Pros is also defective currently and I am going through the RMA process for them yet again. So that could be playing a part. I still find that when I am out and about the AirPods Pro transparency mode just can't be beat. Along with native Siri support and notifications playing through them. But when I'm at home I tend to use my Jabra Elite 7 Pro's as they sound better, are just as comfortable, are easier to navigate, and last longer. I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on the Jabra Elite 7 Pro when you get them in and have had time to try them out. Good or bad. As I'm very interested in your findings.

@@ThomasMuehler Hi Thomas! I received my Elite Pro 7's a couple of days ago. Yesterday I received the EVO's. Long story short, the Jabra's are a good fit for me. They literally fit my ears as well as any bud I have used. The sound is great and I do get a good bass response. I really like the app as well. The 2 point pairing works great with my MacBook Air and iPhone. I think the noise canceling is good and I have not even customized it yet. Everyone is raving about the EVO's. I am sending those back today. No need to even spend another minute on them. I think the Jabra's have a way better sound. Their lack of an EQ makes it ridiculous to try to get a good sound. They don't fit my ears well at all. So long story a little shorter, I am now happy to say that the Jabra's have won the day. I look forward to hearing what you think about the EVO's when you get a chance.

This a great review!u Jabra Elite 75T Active's just bit the dust. Second pair. Loved them. Thought I'd try the Sony LinkBuds because I want something small and compact to have in my ears during the night, but within the first day I noticed they don't have an auto off feature. I just don't understand how this option isn't ubiquitous across all wireless earbuds. Especially at this price point. Definitely returning these to get the Elite Pro 7's. Even if Sony does a slightly better job at active noise cancelling and their voice isolation for calls is a bit better, it doesn't mean anything if the headphones are dead. 😂 Anyways, thanks so much for the effort of this video. I appreciate your thoughts and in-depth review. I'll be picking some up today.

Got to thinking a bit about what you said about auto-off. I agree that they should OFFER the ability to turn it on/off. Also, would be nice to have it automatically go into a low power state if you say have them out of your ears. Personally, I often have earbuds or headphones on but don't have anything playing on them. It would be highly frustrating to have to keep turning them on if it went into an auto-off mode while in my ears. Which is the ONLY reason why I can think they wouldn't come included. I'd love to get your thoughts on the Jabra Elite 7 Pro once you've tried them out.

Hi, Never having found a decent earbud that ticked all the boxes, I was all in on these…the only downside which may lead to their return is the imperceptible ring tone through the buds while using an iphone, and seemingly with no way to increase said volume. Not sure how this made it through!? Did you experience this at all, or find the key to fixing the problem? Going through the Jabra support matrix, as of yet to no avail. Again, calls coming in from iphone have no perceptible ring volume, forcing one to have the phone in proximity to see one has a call, or while listening to music the audio mutes when a call comes in, but still no ringtone that it is a call🤷‍♂️ Thanks

Sorry for the late reply. I usually answer comments at work and these aren't my main drivers. Did some testing today. I noticed the same thing as you. When my phone was muted that I could hear a ringtone in my earbuds but it was very low in volume as you say almost imperceptible. If my ringer is on then it would go through the phone instead of my earbuds (using an iphone). I am not aware of any way to increase said volume. So I am with you on strange it got through. But I would prefer it be too quiet over too loud. And I guess the assumption is that you'd be playing audio?

@@cmassi To be honest, I don't know a lot about Multipoint technology. But my guess is that since you are connected to two devices (even if one doesn't have voice functionality, even though technically Windows has Cortana) that the earbuds themselves are unsure which smart assistant you want so disable that feature when you are connected to two things at once. You'd think it would just prioritize the one you are currently listening to though. I haven't tried this on multiple earbuds that support multipoint so can't verify if that is always the case or another failure of these earbuds.

I'm hoping the Sound+ app with that hearing test will make them succeed where so many other buds have failed, in particular to the midrange. Good instrument separation is one thing, but I can always tell when the tone, texture, and timbre of guitars and drums are not true-to-life. A lot of neutral buds seem to dip those low-mid and mid-mid frequencies which makes metal and rock music sound awkward or downright God awful. The galaxy buds plus are a prime example of that, but there's a cleanliness to the way they sound that's yet to be beaten even if they do tend to make guitars and drums sound inconsistently messy- mostly the case with songs that have a lot of activity or "tight" production.
@ThomasMuehler

Oh! Okay- I promise- last thing: when you actually put in the effort to adjust the ANC in a noisy environment, which for me was standing outside at night in front of the big loud ac units or the laundry room inside with the fan turned on and the dryer making its rumbling noises, it becomes drastically different from "off" mode. I don't know if this is the universally best setting, but setting the bar to the middle blocked out the most fan noise and basically left nothing but the steady airy sort of hiss to be the only audible noise in that room. This tweak definitely made anc better- I don't think it gets better than this apart from maybe further updates? Still a solid feature now that I've fixed it. Hear through mode is nice as well! Loads more natural sounding than the buds+ transparency mode 😅

Then the Marshalls Mode II wireless sound the best but ONLY if you have the perfect seal. Which is super hard to get. And don’t come with other features. So, still have yet to find the perfect buds. Excited to try the AirPods Pro Gen 2. But really disappointed in that announcement as I was really hoping for a lot more. If you can exchange them out you could try. If it isn't a big deal then your call. Could also reach out to support and see what they say. Really comes down to how much it bothers you. I hate having things in my ears when I sleep so me testing isn't going to be a lot of help as everything is uncomfortable. However I noticed when doing the soundscapes (and it was blocking a ton of fan noises) that I got a low battery indicator in my right earbud at around 4 - 6 hours. @ThomasMuehler Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if I fully understand your questions. As I'm going in a few different directions. I've owned the OG AirPods, AirPods Pro Gen 1, AirPods Pro Gen 2, and AirPods Max. I think the AirPods Pro Gen 2 are the best out of the ones I've tried. As they have better portability, sound good, have great noise cancelling/hear through, the adaptive noise cancelling works surprisingly well, battery life is good (both earbuds and case), I like that the case has speakers to let me know when it is low on battery, and it works seamlessly with all my other Apple products (MacBook Air M1, Apple TV's, iPad, iPhone). The Maxes are also great but in a totally different way and is a different conversation and I don't think that is what your actually asking. If so I'll go into detail in another comment. I would buy AppleCare+ though. As my Gen 1 AirPods Pro had a ton of issues. My AirPods Max did too. But my AirPods Gen 2 and AirPods (OG) have been without issues. Jabra 7's have significantly better IPX rating (water/dust resistance). By a significant margin. And I still haven't found others on the market with the same rating. But the AirPods Pro Gen 2 are IP54 rated. Which is industry standard by being equal of most other "water resistant" earbuds and beating a lot of others that are not. Like the Apple AirPods Pro Gen 1 (which may also have the same rating but is never mentioned that I could find so assuming not). I use my Jabra's in the hot tub and shower. As I know they are rated for that and have been just fine. I would not use my AirPods. But AirPods are just fine for rain, splashes of water, and working out. Jabra's have longer battery life (8 hours with buds and 30 with case) over AirPods Pro Gen 2 (6 hours with 24 with case). But they are similar. I think 5 hours with earbuds at a time is pretty great. So I'd say both of them have great battery life. With Jabra they use USB-C charging (I think apple recently switched to this as well but mine don't have it). Which I prefer. As that can come with some other features such as fast charging. But I haven't looked at either of those for a while so unsure if that is included. You'll have to look. I Both support Qi charging. But I like that Apple's has MagSafe (magnetically attach to charger if you have a compatible charger sold separately). So, I think this is essentially a wash. Sound quality, noise cancellation, microphone, and transparency all go to the AirPods. But if you don't have an Apple device then the Jabras will be better. Or if you are mainly using on non-Apple devices Jabras are better. As AirPods only really work on Apple devices. They do technically work on non-Apple. But limited functionality. Yes, I find them both to be equally comfortable. I often forget that either of them are in my ear. I use the AirPods most often. I'd rate both as excellent. My full opinion, I think the AirPods Pro Gen 2 are the best earbuds on the market right now. But only if you use iPhone/Apple devices. If mine broke (and I didn't have AppleCare+) I would still buy them again, immediately. I wouldn't do that for the Jabra's. But I'm also highly Apple ecosystem centric. I have other earbuds and stuff I could use that would replace the Jabras and I wouldn't notice as much. Which isn't saying they are bad and would be my pick of non-Apple earbuds. But the function of them versus a lot of other non-Apple earbuds are similar. Where I can't really replace my Apple earbuds without other Apple ones. As the functionality just isn't the same. Which makes sense only after you've tried them both.

What exactly didn't you think were available on AirPods? I just don't want to give incorrect information. Also, that is very kind of you. Appreciate the kudos. Also, welcome to the family Corey. I'm glad you are here. If you've got any additional questions at anytime just let me know in the comment section and I'll get back to you.

Honestly, I own the Elite 75T as well and prefer these. As I think they are better in almost every category. I haven't tried the studio buds. But out of all the earbuds I've tried I think these are the best outside of AirPods Pro (which these clearly trade a lot of blows with. Main thing that keeps me liking those is they work natively on iPhones and have superior transparency. But these last long, have better ANC, as good of call quality, are smaller, equally as comfortable, and have better waterproofing). Personally, I'd wait for a sale on these and go with them. I would love to know which one you go with and your thoughts on it.

Jabra elite 7 pro vs 7 actives? Which one?
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler Жыл бұрын
I haven't tried the Active. So, can't say for sure. From my very limited understanding that I haven't really researched. They seem to be extremely similar. With the Active's being a bit more sports focused (better noise isolation, slightly different tuning that is more colorful). Whereas, the Pro have slightly better microphone, not as good of noise isolation, and more neutral sound.

If they hadn't scan 62000 ears for comfort and instead invested in solid engineering and connectivity there wouldn't have the connection issues they are notorious for. Highly recommend you run away and buy two cups and string, at least you won't have meltdown because of connectivity issues...

I've previously used Jabra Elite 75t, but after forgetting to remove them out of my pants pocket while doing the laundry, the Elite 75t stopped working. The only advantage I can see with the 7 Pro vs. 75t is longer use on a single charge. For the rest, my personal experience with the 7 Pro is simply disappointing. a) The case of the 7 Pro is horrible. Ergonomically, this design is a disaster; very easy to slip off your fingers while trying to open the case. b) I didn't have any issues with the Jabra 75t Bluetooth yet, with the Pro7 I have to reset the buds quite often. c) ANC is not as good as on 75t. d) The size of the Jabra Elite 7 Pro is not that much smaller than that of the 75t. Only 1 mm. difference in thickness. That's measuring the depth of the bud frame exposed outside the ear. In conclusion: I miss Jabra Elite 75t.
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler Жыл бұрын
I appreciate the great rundown! Always love reading these. A. Agree when trying to open one handed they can easily slip. However, I’ve gotten used to that and don’t mind the case all that much. As I find the magnet to be strong and also I like the small size of it. B. That is surprising. I haven’t had any issues with that whatsoever. C. I don’t remember my 75T but I always thought this one had better in my testing. But that could be me misremembering or because they fit in my ear better which provides better passive noise isolation which makes me thing the ANC is better. I’m also wondering if your pair is slightly defective giving you worse results. I’d reach out to support. Especially about them disconnecting all the time and not as good noise canceling. D. In my opinion that 1 mm makes a big difference. As they feel a lot smaller.

@ThomasMuehler I'm just sour because I bought a pair of these and, call wise, they are some of the worst headphones I've ever used. The mikes pick up all background noise, and most of the time people I talk to can't hear me. I have to be in a completely quiet room to have a normal conversation. They also are extremely inconsistent with battery life and charging.

I haven' thad any problems with battery life and charging? What is happening with yours? My charge just fine and last for ages. I use them probably daily for maybe 30 - 60 minutes (so not a lot) and usually charge them like once every 2 - 3 months?
