The Jabra 75 does not get rid of the background noise as shown in the video. The video test shows the people voices is muted. If you are the Jabra company you know the product can not do this. Why are you saying another great video? It is annoying that I spent over $200 for a headset that does not get rid of background noise or even performed as this video test shows.

This video was too perfect and I was afraid the actual experience will be worse. But I received it yesterday and cannot believe how good Noise Cancellation works. Thanks so much. Working from home with kids running around is much easier now. Also can use my garden next to a road and traffic is now not a problem anymore. I dont reccomend if you want to listen to the music though. But that is not the reason I bought them :)

Danny, really late comment, but hopefully enough time has passed to really be able to compare the two - Jabra Evolve 75 vs Evolve 75e (neckband earbuds), which fares better at noise rejection while preserving mic voice quality (either outside or big noisy open office) from what you can remember? Wondering if the 75e's suspended Mic setup is as good as the 75's mic boom configuration. As always, thanks for putting up these real world comparison tests. You and guys like EBPMAN do great at this. Good work.

Great video. I'm torn between the Jabra Evolve 75 and the Jabra Engage 75 Stereo headsets. I work in a home office and use my iPhone to make calls. Note, I am on the phone most of the day, so comfort and battery life are important. Also, I have a dog and young kids in the home, so I am also looking for a quality microphone that can cancel out these noises in the background. Which model would you suggest?

These have been my life work life changing device. One issue: they are delicate... the boom when lifted is in mute. Doing this often during each call made me tear the cable that goes from the mic to the mainboard, since it passes through a whole in the silicate board, of course slightly sharp. Made to break - aweful design in that component. Should be replaced also out of warranty as this can happen in 6 months like me or in 2 years if you hardly use the lift-boom-to-mute function. Modifying them is possible but not easy - the cable is routed in a wrong way: ideally one should buy, open, de solder, open up the whole, put a rounded belt-hole-like metal protection, re pass the cable and resolder. Don't see anyone doing this (I will try ;) but it should be done before using them for long... the rubber around the cable gets literally sawed down / torn - I have pictures if anyone is interested... Still, the best all rounder. One more thing I'd like is to have a 3.5 jack option as well: long talks over the mobile would be nice without a bluetooth antenna frying one's brian.

Hi Danny, I'm curious about your thoughts between the Jabra Evolve 75, the Plantronics 8200 UC, and something like the Sony H900N which was a top headphone pick at wirecutter. I mostly listen to music but some days I'm on the phone all day making calls. Does the boom mic on the Evolve 75 make a large difference in call quality over those other two? I'm looking for the right mix of sales call quality, music quality, and ANC. Any chance you can test those three headphones against those criteria? Thanks, Chris

Call One, Inc. thanks for the reply and your thoughts. It seems that the boom arm on the Evolve does make a difference in call quality. The Sony H900N is similar to a Bose QC 35ii. From what I've read those types of headphones are awesome for ANC, playing music, and comfort, but the microphones and call quality kinda suck. Since I make calls for a living having good call quality is pretty important so I'm leaning toward the Evolve 75 though I wish it was over the ear. Then maybe pick up some Sony Headphones for listening to music and the ANC. I saw a video series of you comparing the Evolve 75 to some other headphones in an open office. Can you link that for me here?

I do have the Jabra Evolve 75 and being in homeoffice for pandemic reasons, people can still very clearly hear background sounds in my house. Do you know whether ANC on/off has an effect on the microphone also? Because I normally keep ANC off which, afaik, only affects what I am hearing.

It has ANC speakers, solid performing NC mic, mobile and computer connectivity, can be used as Bluetooth or corded USB headset, Up to 18hours (with ANC and busylight off) and Up to 14 hours (with ANC on and busylight off) of Talk Time.

Ok, I am working from home these COVID-19 days, and I have the Jabra Evolve 75. The sound quality of music playing in my ears is great and the ANC reduces the volume of noise in the background to an acceptable level. I however have a problem with the Mic. My wife is also working from home these days and my kids stay home as well. When I call people they say that they hear almost as well what my wife is saying to my kids (in the other side of the living room) as what I am saying. Therefor I do not understand this video. Is my mic a hyper-sensitive one or have I been speaking to vampires or something?! ;)

It ended up being that during my testing I was using my phone to add music and sounds but put the phone in front of me so the mic was picking up every single noise coming from it. As soon as I moved the phone to either behind me or the side the headset worked perfectly. I was trying to do a test like the one you do with the loud TV but if you face the tv the mic seems to pick up everything which is understandable since the sound is coming directly to the mic.

I do do know what your problem is. You have to place the mic always in front of your mouth. If you pull it more downwards you get this issue. Happened to me many times.

I purchased the Jabra 75 and I can still hear the background noise very clearly and so could the person on the call. It just sounded like the volume was turn down a lit bit. But you will still hear the background noise and people talking. I even called the company and was told that the noise will not be gone in the background it will just be turn down for me to focus on the call. Definitely not worth paying over $200.00! If you are working from home and need the call to have NO background noise, then don't waste your time with these headset!

@@NVGEAR I bought the Evolve 75 two months ago. I am quite happy with it. So let me get this straight: - The speakers have a slight passive reduction of background noise. That is what you experience as fake. That was also my first impression after receiving the Evolve 75. - However if you put the ANC mode on, the mic will not pickup any background noise. The person who speak you will not notice the background noise on your site. - That is the ANC, that is where this test is going about. - I experienced a Ambulance which was quite loud outside, the person I was speaking to did not notice any sound of the ambulance. The lack of these reviews (this is just mentioned as feedback) is that is not clear for everyone that the ANC is for the background sound of the mic and not for the canceling background noise on your own ears. To demonstrate this the test should be expanded with a microphone placed between the ears and the headphone. A mic beam construction can have a very sensitive cardoid pattern. In combination with ANC for the mic it gives an incredible effect as described above.

@@NVGEAR You did not change settings by the Jabra software? There is a mode that you can tweak some settings. One of them is an option for picking up less background noise. I am not quite sure or the headset must be connected by an USB cable or that the connection must be by bluetooth. That software on the mac is not consistent.

@@CallOneInc This needs an in depth review. I don't like the message that the TV is on volume level 33 or 50. I suppose that level 33 or 50 on your TV different on my TV. The unit dB level is proper indication for comparison. Can you do that review in combination with the Plantronics Focus in case the results are different. I am very interested in the results.

@@MrAtlantis95 you are mixing things completely up with ANC and NC my friend. ANC has nothing to do with the person who is listening to you. If you enable ANC that is just eleminating low frequencies (e.g. fan, pc fan, plane etc) - however it is not eliminating 100% all outside noise (e.g. people talking in office). NC is always on if you are in a call. I can stay e.g. 60 cm away from my loudspeakers and the person who is listening to me can barely hear the music.

Call One, Inc. ok so I’m thinking since it’s for work and I work for the state I can just install anything to laptop... so due not being able to install I think the avaya can’t get the configuration to the headset and that’s why it’s not working looked up the connection to avaya online and yeah I’m missing a whole set to make it work which is the installation on the direct support

In my opinion the ANC is definitely not a great feature and useless. So I'm a bit sceptical about the presenter saying that he can't actually hear anything. 🤥 Maybe a hearing problem? ;) It should be a passive NC but the design is not made for it. I have 40€ headset that just do as well. Doesn't put enough pressure on the ears for me. But comfortable. It gets better after a couple of minutes. Time for your ears to take the shape of the headsets and get flatter. The only impressive thing is how it block the ext. sound on a call. You can hear a little bit of your voice so I don't get to scream. Smart. 2 people in a small office could speak without problems The mic quality is heavily degraded but that's the price to pay to filter out the external sounds. Headset sound quality is very good. Be careful. Not all the phones works well with it. Some Android phones could get some issues. My case.

@@CallOneInc thanks. I compared with my Sony with ANC and well ... Not as good. You actually don't feel the void that it's suppose to create. I just hear a white noise. Though it might be more noticeable when the sound is louder. I'll run more tests before to decide if I return it. (didn't buy through your shop by the way. I'm in Europe.)

@@CallOneInc quick update. Headset is not that easy to use. But I'm starting to think it's a hardware / OS issue. Android and IOS don't behave the same way. Found out that WhatsApp on Android / oneplus doesn't use the headset microphone for vocal messages. Works ok with WhatsApp call though. No issue with the latest iPhone. I also have issues with device priority. Maybe what you referred as call connect. If I'm on a Google meet and get a call I'll be ejected from my meet. It sucks. Ive read there is maybe a setting to prevent it. I'll try. Also sometimes it get stuck to one device and won't switch. Example I'm listening to something on my Mac, then want to switch to Spotify on my phone. It won't work. It's kind of scary cause I had less issue with a 40 € headset MPOW... I'm thinking that it could be an OS problem. Jabra doesn't even manage the evolve 75 in their mobile app on Android that's a shame at this price. Starting to regret my last minute change of heart. I was initially going for the poly voyager. Any headset you'd recommend?

@@CallOneInc I am extremely disappointed to purchase this headset from amazon.com purely based on this video. I should have not trusted. There is no way this headset blocks the noise as is claimed in this video. I have updated the firmware, I have infact played the same video while talking to see if the recording picks up noise or not and sure it DOES. IT DOES pick up the noise like a normal $50 dollar headset. The unfortunate thing is I cannot even return it because I am located out of US. I finally shelled still more money to buy Bose 700 NC and that is day and night better than this in suppressing the noise transmitted via mic. I am sorry to say but this video is not what this headphone really is....

This video is a trainwreck. First off the mic is super hot. Sounds harsh. Second.. for the in the office test, most people won't realize that its switching between the mic and camera mic. The result is jarring.
