I run a Telemarketing company where we sit in an open landscape. We bought 2 Jabra2 75 to test against our 75 old one. @@stiadah2 How did it feel wearing the 275’s after extended usage compared to the original 75’s? I ask because I too use the 75’s and seem to work in a similar environment that gets very loud . I’m more concerned with how I sound to my clients during a sales call than how they sound to me so blocking background sounds is very important; however, I recently started working from home about half of the week and since I don’t have any other noises to worry about while at home, I was considering getting another headset while at home so I can leave the 75s at the office. Price is not a concern and am also considering the 285s. I mainly want to avoid fatigue from wearing them for extended periods of time because I can work more hours while working from by starting earlier taking a shorter lunch and working later since I’m not traveling.

One thing to note that I recently experienced is that while they both have mic monitoring capability (hear your own voice through the speakers) the evolve2 75 uses the earcup mics for this, which means it disables the ANC to do it. The older 75 uses the actual boom mic to implement mic monitoring so you can still use ANC and only hear your voice and not the environment around you!

Just my thoughts……I have used both and whilst the OG evolve 75 mic sounds better in this video one other key factor for me was the audio quality of the earphones overall. The evolve 2 75 has much better audio quality in the earphones and great for listening to music as well as a very good teams headset. The e275 are also much more comfortable to wear for longer periods of time, to OG would often would hurt my ears after a few hours. One element in e275 package/box that is disappointing, whilst it doesn’t affect performance, is the supplied case. its a soft bag, the OG 75 had a hard case and therefore protected the OG 75 headphones much better and separated the headset from usb cable to avoid any further damage or scratching on the headset. Also the charging stand for the e275 is definitely worth spending the few extra £’s if you can. It is solid, heavy, holds the headphones well and is super convenient if you use the headphones a lot through the day. Also compared to the evolve2 85 these don’t have as good ANC (due to the e275 being on ear rather than over ear) but they aren’t as big or heavy as the evolve 2 85 and the mic on the evolve 2 75 is much much better than the evolve2 85. There also a bit cheaper than the evolve 2 85 as well.

Hello, One question: After I had seen this video, I bought Jabra Evolve 75 (original) , it seemed the perfect choice for me. The problem is that when I do a test with the vacuum cleaner started near me, the others are hearing the noise from the vacuum. Same with a mixer for example. I am not sure if the headset is broken, if I miss something or this is the way it should work. Did you connect Jabra Headset using Teams or some other software that has also some noise cancellation capabilities built in and works together with Jabra headset to cancel the noise? Or should I activate anything in particular to get that good noise filtering for the Evolve 75? Of course, ANC was on during my tests. Any advise would be greatly appreciated, I don't know that to do to obtain the same results as you did! Many many thanks!

The mic quality performance is pretty comparable with edge to Poly Voyager Focus 2. The Evolve2 75 has a significantly longer battery life. The Poly Voyager Focus 2 provides the option to connect to a desk phone by purchasing the Spare Voyager Office Base. Just got the Evolve 75 for my work headset, and I am already hoping that you can rebind the buttons on it. Moving the headset mic up and down, or trying to find that tiny button to mute it is a pain. Love your vids. Can you do a comparison between 2.75; Voyager 4320 and Bose Comfort Series. Based on your vids, the 2.75 seems to be my favorite for great microphone noise cancellation. But, what about playing music through them? Is there any headset that does an excellent job cancelling background microphone noise AND playing music that also sounds good (good bass, good highs..)? While I am dreaming of headsets, can you set it up to hear yourself inside the headphones while you speak into the mic??? Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi VFizz! That is quite the divide in products. I have tested all three. The Bose will provide the best speaker audio quality performance when listening to music. That's a great topic and I may write a blog or create a video talking about the current lifespan of headsets. It does vary by user. Yes, indeed. My original Evolve 75 mic died just past the warranty period. The muting function activated by raising the boom mic is an example of engineering an overly complicated fix for a nonexistent problem (just use a dedicated button to mute instead of a poorly constructed hardware failure waiting to happen). I'll hope they'd fixed their their quality/design problem with the microphone arm to pcb connection cable. I've found the sleeves of this extremly thin coax cable been damaged in a 1 year old 75 device and all outer copper strains of the coax cable had become cut at the PCB hole, where the cable is wired through to the soldering points at the other side of the PCB. The cable will be twisted, every time you move the microfon arm and will become cut off over the time by the sharp edges of the hole in the pcb. A small drop of the already heavily used tear glue at this point would make this product much more durable. And a little bit bigger and edge rounded hole (2,5mm) in the PCB will prevent the factory workers from damaging the protecting cable sleeve right at the assembly process. Lets hope that the Gen 2 will not have the same flaw.

What software do you use to do the mic test?
@CallOneInc3 жыл бұрын
Hi Carlos! It depends on what I'm sharing. In this video, I simply use Windows 10 Camera App and ensure I am using the mic as audio input for recording. However, what you don't see in this video are all the other tests across multiple platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, Google Meet, etc. And if Bluetooth, making/taking calls via my mobile phone. If I'm recording audio from a Bluetooth headset on my mobile (currently iPhone 11 Pro Max) I use Voice Recorder App. Sometimes I use OBS Studio if I'm sharing my screen. I hope this helps.

If they were overear headset I'd get them for work. But the way there are designed, let you hear what colleagues are saying, that's a no-go!

Hi Mohamed, thanks for sharing your feedback. You may want to look at the Evolve2 85 however, all the over ear headsets I've tested from Jabra, Poly, Bose, Sony, Microsoft, Jlab and EPOS do not completely block out background noise, even with ANC on. They do, if you are streaming audio. That has been my experience. Hope this helps.

The Evolve is an amazing headset...right up until the mic fails because every time you lift and drop the mic to mute/unmute it slowly wears the wire out until one day it fails. Almost seems like planned obsolescence.

Hi @allergic2cubicles! I've been in the headset industry since 1999. I can agree that devices produced today (by all leading headset brands) don't last as long as they did back in the day. I can't say it's done purposely as I know much effort is put into creating durable solutions but they aren't built like the tanks of yesteryear. Also, not all users are equal. Power users will run through a headset faster than the occasional user. All in all, most headsets today last 2-3 years for average users. Thanks so much for watching and sharing your experience and feedback!

Best wood be to take this video out. The noise canceling is NOT hardware related it is the Software do the magic not the Jabra Headset. It is really confusing for people not reading all the commands through where you mentioned that it was your Galaxy book and not the Jabra Headsets.
@CallOneInc2 жыл бұрын
Hi pfluem1, all current videos are using the headset mics and their proprietary software like Jabra Direct, Poly Lens, Yealink USB Connect, EPOS Connect, etc. There were only a handful of videos where RealTek AI was on. It has since been disabled. The more recent headset mic test videos are just the mics and they still perform strong. kzbin.info/aero/PLOmK3KI8aDaVR64fuVXeMl4_AkNuJbMtE

The new Jabra evolve 2 75 is a piece of crap. Terrible microphone that breaks up all the time and not comfortable at all. I had to go back to my old Jabra 2 65. $350 bucks thrown into the garbage.
