I think it's important to note: Roles are fluid in PUBG. While things like sniper (bolt action) can usually be the same player game to game, things like entry fragger, flanker, scout can be situation dependent. Being able to recognize what role you are to take in a given situation is crucial. Especially in competitive, you can't expect to wait for the "flanker" to get in position or the "scout" to check a rotate path or compound, without losing lots of time and possible opportunities. If the left flank is weaker and vulnerable and your "flanker" is on the right side of your formation, it's up to the player on the left of your formation to complete the action. Same with scouting. If you're on edge and your scout is moving towards center to get info, and the circle shifts away from him, it would be wasteful to wait for him to re position if a different team mate could get there faster or has access to that information. That's why it's important that every player understand the roles and be capable of fulfilling them. Even IGL in my opinion. There are times that a player might see something that the IGL doesn't, and to give him the info, explain the play, and wait for him to make the call could waste crucial seconds needed to execute the play. Obviously these situations are fairly rare, but they do happen.

Step #1 is understanding what your role should be in a specific spot. If you can get that down youll be able to make plays.

As a casual. I'm finding this video because of an understanding that there is a lack of structure in teams i deal with. Looking at each one of these roles, I see glimpses of what could have been, but without actual composing, you have no chance at organizing a team. Great video.

Definitely no such thing as camping, its holding position. Now that pubg has ranked, if you watch streamers play ranked now, those that dont usually stream comps, you now get to see that "camping" is essential in intense competitive games. Holding positions is essential.

Hahaha the randoms I play with.. all go hotdrop, all die in 3 seconds.. I go off and adventure on my own for 20 minutes. Ps I tell them I dont do hot drops, they laugh .. then I'll land nearby loot up, try get a scope to assist from a distance, they all get knocked.. and then swear at me to come res them (even if they cant speak English they always know how to swear in English)

I know, I'm learning everyday. I don't usually go for the team leader role, and since my team is obsessed with looting, they don't see ahead so they rarely scout, so there it is. . . Lol I'm always the decoy too, sometimes the timing was just right by the time the enemy almost kills me instantly my comrades come to my rescue. But then again we eventually all die together somewhere in the 3rd or 2nd last of the zone 😂

Thanks for this video. I'm the igl to my squad. But we generally lack a 4th member cause everyone's got lives of their own right. But I end up having to be multiple rolls cause my other 2 teammates get very flustered in even basic situations like say the blue zone on round 1 touching them they start to freak. Or one of them will be like oh shit there's a squad right over there or in front of us. But his definition of close and mine are way off. He thinks 200m is right in front of us. When I go where the heck are they and he says a compound 150-200 m away from us I tell him that's not close and he just says to him they are. His call outs suck though in general but he is amazing with gun play and usually get the most kills. But he also goes down the most cause he sits in the open or wide/hard peeks to much. Then my other guy is great but needs to drive all the time and is the worst at picking where to park and always feels like where you mark first needs to be where you go and if you say to go somewhere else he freaks and can't handle it so I end up driving in my own car 90% of the time cause he ends up going where I want but parks on the side of a hill or in plain sight of the enemy.. I get so frustrated with them I end up telling em both off and that we loose cuase they can't follow the most basic instructions..
