very timely … albeit my jabsco resh water pump is the newer “HD4” style … where they have completely changed the design….(recently) and these appear to superseed the version you are showing… and ive struggled to find any details/examples help on the newer HD4 style… still enjoyed your video..

I now have two spares. Would using an external relay suited to handle the larger current help avoid a premature failure to the pump?

It certainly would. Sail Safe Guys, Ant & Cid.

Thanks for the straightforward video! I am trying to diagnose my problem (pump runs constantly when breaker is turned on) and I thought it was the pressure switch. replaced with brand new and it still acts the same (water in the tanks, accumulator tank is at the right pressure). I put a pressure gauge on the freshwater system and pressure builds way past the 40psi that the switch is supposed to break the connection. Will test both old and new switches with your resistance method (thank you for that!) but curious if there can be another problem where the water to the switch isn't reaching pressure... Will likely purchase another pump (sigh) to have the spare available but interesting in learning from the collective wisdom...

Hi, great video but what were the symptoms? I'm wondering if I have the same issue... My system doesn't seem to pressurise properly, so the pump intermittently comes on every 5 to 10 seconds
@rorschach28574 ай бұрын
Also, do I have to empty my water tank before removing the pump?
@rorschach28574 ай бұрын
And I have just checked the switch continuity seems to be fine... any other ideas?

Check the spring is switching the contacts off at the right pressure as it is the pressure that is wrong not the pump. Sail Safe mate. Ant & Cid

@SVImpavidus to change the pressure do I just loosen the screw?

Nice look see at Pumps Ant. Best Wishes, and hoping you aren't being clobbered with Snow and Shivering. Not had Snow yet here in this part of Wales, but it's been ruddy freezing, and had to get a new 10.5 tog Duvet, and sod's Law, the day after it arrived it stopped freezing and turned to Rain lol. After successive years of La Nina's, looks like we are now entering what may be a Super El Nino, and depending on where we are in the World, things could be getting interesting. Best Wishes. Bob. 🤔👍⛵️✨️✨️✨️❤️

My pump just turns on every ten seconds or so for just a half second. Ive looked over all the pipes for leaks and cant find anything. Im very new to narowboats so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Maybe its time for a new pump since im not sure how old this one is 😊.... ok i just tried closing the isolator just after the pump and it now stays off so i think i need to go over the pipework again. Must be a little drip somewhere

It can be a leak back in the pump head from the high pressure side to the low side. Usually caused by a small obstruction or muck in the valve rubbers. check and clean out the valve chamber. Regards Ant.

Hey Cid - it would be the best if you listed Part Number of the kit you are using - I looked for it on Amazon but no luck.

Hi, I have a potential issue with my pump (JABSCO PARMAX 2+) which has occured after I've dewinterised her. It's periodically coming on (without being activated by a tap) every ten/fifteen minutes. My initial thought was a leak in the system. I've checked most of this (there are one or two difficult to access spaces) including the calorifier and can find no obvious leaks. I do have a tap which drips (about once every two minutes producing a quarter of a cup of water overnight). The pump is at least 12 years old. I'm wondering whether or not the pump on its own could be the source of the problem. I have also had someone hook up a different accumulator to the system and it still does it. It's cheeky of me but do you have any thoughts ?

My advise would be replace the dripping tap washer or tap.

I seem to have lost the spring. Is there where i can buy one or maybe know the size please
@SVImpavidus8 ай бұрын
I am not sure if they sell the spring as a separate part however here is a link to the exploded drawing with all the part numbers. Just google the part number or get in touch with your local dealer. All the details are on the web site. www.jabscoshop.com/marine/pumps/pressurised-fresh-water-pumps/31395-2512-3a-par-max-3-pressure-controlled-pump.htm Sail Safe mate. Ant & Cid

🤣Tell me now I have just changed it. Mine was loosing pressure, suggesting a leak. I isolated it from the system and it still kept running intermittently. I did not know they were repairable.
