8:35 another meta moment from the Munnabhai series I believe. If you go back to the second movie, 'Lage raho Munnabhai', you would find a scene when Munna on his radio show is trying to convince the character of victor (the guy who lost his family savings in stock market) to come clean to his father and then snaps on him when victor says that he would rather die. Munna in the process of scolding him for even thinking about something like that, says a line to make victor relate to him "Ek subah apun utha to dekha ki apna baap thaaich nahi. Bahot kuchh bolne ka thaa usko, lekin saala sab andar hi reh gaya (Translation- One morning I woke up and saw that my father was no more, There was so much that I wanted to tell him but it all stayed with me only.). That line was particularly hard hitting in that movie on its own but after watching this movie, with the context of what happened in real life in mind, that line hits even harder when you realise that in that scene it wasnt Munna talking about his father, it was Sanjay talking about his.

This was one of the best Ranbir Kapoor performance. Very Important movie for Vicky Kaushal, his career gone up after his brilliant acting in this movie. Paresh Rawal was incredible as always he has been in his four decades long career. Dia Mirza was very good and other supporting actors as well, only Anushka Sharma can't make a impression in the movie. Many Parts of the Story were fictional. It looked like Rajkumar Hirani was trying to make Sanjay Dutt look good even after the choices made by Sanjay Dutt. Kar Har Maidaan Fateh is very dear song to me which was added very beautifully in the movie. It is an entertaining movie nevertheless.

It's true Andrew. The scene about Sanju facing a don it might be true in a different way. The whole Don and underworld thing in Mumbai was a huge thing. Bollywood celebrities used to dance in their functions and had(or maybe wanted) to stay in good relationship with them. And Mumbai suffered a lot due to Mumbai mafia community. Some of them were eliminated by police goons in the end.

It's funny that you say Vicky Kaushal's performance was the greatest amongst everyone in the movie and his character ..but you guys when talking about the sanju's character ...you never said Ranbir Kapoor's acting...you just said...ohh Sanju was great ..but on some parts you didn't like him because he was a mess..and the way he was bad influenced... That says a lot about Ranbir's acting.

Sanjay Dutt's life was much much darker than this movie showcased. It would've been great if Anurag Kashyab or Ram Gopal Varma had directed this movie. Watch Vastaav next, for 2 reasons. first, its the best Sanjay Dutt performance like ever, second, Sanju should've felt more like Vastav than 3 idiots Pk and all.

I would suggest you to open and read the wikipedia of sanju's parents "Sunit Dutt" and "Nargis". They both had been legendary actors of Indian movie of old times. Especially NARGIS was once upon a time the most desirable woman in India for mass along with "Madhubala" for long time. No actress today can match their level of fame, beauty and presence in audience's hearts except Madhuri Dixit in 1990s
