Believe it or not, it's exactly how love these days are. This isn't a toxic movie, this movie is about toxic relationships. At least 70-80% of the movie will connect with Indian audience who are in their teens. This movie exposed everything and it's pretty unacceptable for grown ups which is understandable but I laugh out loud when teens who really pretend that they don't do stuff shown in this movie come up and say, "you know what, this is a toxic movie" 🤣

Those are straight up facts. People who pretend that they don’t engage in all such activities, are the ones who end up being the most toxic ones. Though I appreciate a lot of ideas from the film, I just wish the resolution could’ve been better. At least the approach should’ve been. Two people lying to each other, and the act of trusting never comes along, as long as they honestly admit their actions and mistakes. So this is where the film lacked imo.

The film doesn't want to tell anyone what is toxic. It tries to say that regardless of the circumstance the partner in the relationship is the best person to make the decisions because they are the ones who know them the best. It is about giving the benefit of the doubt even if the other person has seemingly wronged you. It takes an idealistic perspective for sure but at the core it wants to say that mutual trust can go a long way. The phones are a plot device which can easily reveal any amount of personal information which can ruin relationships. It is a fantastical situation when partners exchange their phones and chances are it never happens usually. That is why in the end Pradeep says he trusts her to the effect of doing everything in his power to reveal the falsified video. On the other hand even though the girl got angry with him, in retrospect she understands Pradeep is not that kind of a person. This would never be a possibility in reality but hey it is a romance comedy drama based on modern relationships. You guys came in for a happy ending, the movie gave you one even though it leaves a sour taste in your mouth. 😅

This movie is a classic example of immaturity in relationships and all the things revolving around it. Most of the teens are in such a relationship. That's why love is something that should happen naturally and not forcefully and these are the results when you love with peer pressure or done forcefully. "Maturity will always come with age".
@amritasrinivasan2929 Жыл бұрын
I've always felt that there's a certain immaturity when it comes to relationships in India, particularly romantic relationships. It has a lot to do with patriarchy and it's influence on culture and also on the individual's perspective. Even media has a role to play in creating certain unhealthy stereotypes. There are a lot of misconceptions and misinformation eventually leading to misunderstandings. Trust has always been a major problem here. It's just worse now with social media. People have no idea about what a healthy relationship is and what a toxic relationship is. It's very complicated. But I guess this movie just holds a mirror to what normally goes on here. It's something to have a long conversation about. I'd be happy to share my thoughts with you on this. I can also learn something from this. Edit: By normal, I meant the kind of relationship that is common here. Sadly, it is not healthy in almost all of those relationships.

@@amritasrinivasan2929 I'm not sure if I understood your question the right way. Do you mean living together without being married, or did you mean something else? If that's the case. Yes, they live together and they prefer not to get married, so it doesn't get complicated if or when they decide to leave eachother. Often the reason they break up are because they are too immature to solve the problems in their relationship in a mature way. Often the kids in these relationships have major personality problems when they grow up and don't do that well in life. But immature people are characterised by their obsession to their own needs and by the fact that they can't solve the difficulties.

Just to add to your point a part of the population believe that once committed people should stay in that relationship even if it's toxic or not compatible ,even cinema plays a part in it,you could see people praising the first love/ or love at first sight etc.its just filmsy and real life is different.I do not say you should jump from one person to other,it's just be careful when choosing a partner and if the relationship does more harm than good part in good spirits.

At end the hero mother's telling that don't digg up deep if she is ok for you evens she's has some flaws, you must trust her and you may be happy about this decision in future...that's why hero put and depicts tree plantation simultaneously in this movie to resemble his character and Audience can understand . The reality is , girls get away with hanging out with their ex and boys get away with opportunistic flirting. I liked the film and it's message but people who thinks it's toxic needs to understand that movie shows a phase of the relationship which will replicate all over the life. Few imperfections causes the havoc and amidst of that they found their true love with trust. Now, we cannot say that they stay happily ever after but they probably may not face the old problems again. They may face new ones and will find a way to set it right using, again trust and love. Please don't generalise this and apply to every wrong relationship you landed. 🙃 Truth is no matter what you think, wife and husband relationship isn't as strong as mother or father. We have to nurture it, correct it's course and constantly requires some effort from both. Instead of being in deadlock, treat the partner in the same way you wished to be treated. Love, trust and love again is the only thing we can do. BTW, message in film is, please don't do stupid things for fun and be in senses.😄

I guess it is the thing with Cinema in general, where they bring in some catastrophic incident or a near death experience near the end of a movie - that is intended to make the problems put forth to the characters during the movie seem trivial. It is done in an effort to make the audience look at those problems as trivial and small hoping that they can overlook them. I guess me as an Indian audience got so used to it, that I didn't notice it until Jaby pointed it out. Overall, great reaction Jaby!! Kudos!!!

This movie is totally based on situation in India in current times in school and colleges many many students are in these kind of toxic relationship but the problem is they even know it's wrong and what's the right way because nobody openly talks about relationship whatever everyone learn about relationship is from their friends . I know you will feel this movie is toxic bcoz you don't know that this is common in India and obviously thing are different in US . but the director really did an amazing work in telling and visualising this kind of storyline . Really amazing movie 👍

Jaby .. there is a difference in your perspective... It's the hero's imagination on reading the text ... Actual may not be that exaggerated... Our mind exaggerates in such circumstances... Same with the other ....

It is how it is today. Some people in the comments just not getting it. If everything is unforgivable, noone can be in a relationship.

I have no idea why so many people are suddenly recommending Orange in the comments (an "older" movie with Ram Charan) because that movie was messy and boring. I feel like it's 1 fan of the movie who made several accounts to recommend it lol
